Guided product tours in Wispr Flow (Team Features Intro)

Last updated: June 5, 2026

Available on: Mac, Windows

After your team plan is activated, Flow runs a short guided tour that spotlights the features your team just unlocked — Insights, Dictionary, and Snippets — so you know exactly where to find them.

What it is

Guided tours are short, in-app walkthroughs that appear after key moments, like upgrading to a team plan. Each step dims the rest of the interface and spotlights a specific element, paired with a coachmark card that explains what it does.

The first available tour is the Team Features Intro — a three-step walkthrough that introduces the Insights, Dictionary, and Snippets sidebar items to team users.

How it works in Flow

Overview

When a tour starts, the screen dims and a spotlight cutout appears around the highlighted feature. A coachmark card appears next to it with a title and short description. Move through steps using the Next and Done buttons on the card, or use the Back button to return to the previous step.

Key behaviors

  • Focus overlay: A semi-transparent backdrop dims the rest of the interface, with a lit cutout around the targeted element. The spotlight animates smoothly between steps.

  • Coachmark card: For the Team Features Intro, every step places the card to the right of the highlighted sidebar item. The card shows an image panel at the top, followed by a step counter (e.g. 1/3), the title, and a short description, with Back and Next buttons at the bottom.

  • Navigation buttons: Use Next to advance between steps. The final step shows Done, which closes the tour.

  • Dismiss any time: Click the X on the coachmark card, or click anywhere on the dimmed background outside the spotlight, to exit.

  • Launch trigger: The Team Features Intro starts when you click Get started on the upgrade celebration modal. Dismissing that modal does not launch the tour.

Important: The tour appears once. It cannot be replayed from within the app, whether you complete it or dismiss it.

Examples

The Team Features Intro walks through three sidebar items in order. Each step shows a step counter (e.g. 1/3) above the title, and the card appears to the right of the highlighted item.

Step 1 — Insights

The tour spotlights the Insights sidebar item. The coachmark reads: "Check out team insights — See how your team is using Flow and where you rank against one another!"

Step 2 — Dictionary

The spotlight moves to the Dictionary sidebar item. The coachmark reads: "Check out Team Dictionary — Add names and terms that are used universally across your team. Anyone can contribute to it!"

Step 3 — Snippets

The final step spotlights the Snippets sidebar item. The coachmark reads: "Check out Team Snippets — Snippets are shortcuts for things you type all the time like emails, links, addresses, bios." Click Done to close the tour.

FAQs

Why did a dimmed overlay appear over my screen?

That's the guided tour focus overlay — it highlights a specific feature so you can find it easily. To exit, click the X on the coachmark card or click the dimmed background outside the spotlight.

Can I replay the Team Features Intro tour?

No. The tour appears once after a team upgrade, and there is no in-app button to replay it.

Who sees the Team Features Intro tour?

Members of a team or enterprise whose subscription is active, trialing, or past-due — plus paying users on any paid plan who belong to an enterprise that hasn't started its subscription yet. The tour appears after they click the CTA on the upgrade celebration modal.

What happens if my company domain already has a Wispr Flow team?

During onboarding, you'll see a Team Consolidation screen instead of the standard team-naming screen. Existing teammates from your domain are pre-selected, and you can add more email addresses before joining or creating a team. New teammates are invited as members, not admins.

What if I was part of a team before but am no longer?

If you previously belonged to a team that you're no longer part of, onboarding will route you to a page where you can request to join an existing team on your domain.

What does "Auto-add future @domain teammates" do?

When checked during team setup, anyone who later signs up for Wispr Flow using the same email domain as you is automatically added to your team. They're notified by email and added the next time they log in.

I got a notification saying a teammate joined Flow. What does that mean?

When someone with the same email domain as you signs up for Flow, you may see an in-app notification about them. A few details about how this works:

  • The Create a team button opens the Team settings page where you can take action — it does not auto-create a team or directly unlock features.

  • There are three notification variants. Free users who have not yet used their team trial see an offer for a 2-week Pro trial; users already on Pro see a different variant without the trial offer; basic users see a third variant.

  • Enterprise members and users subscribed via mobile (App Store) do not receive these notifications.

What is the FlowPro Teams trial celebration screen?

If you create a team during onboarding, you'll see a FlowPro Teams trial celebration screen that highlights team-specific perks — individual trials for each member, team insights, and shared context. This is separate from the personal FlowPro trial screen shown to solo users.

Limitations and notes

  • Guided tours are available on Mac and Windows.

  • The Team Features Intro is shown only to users for whom team features are available.

  • The tour appears once and cannot be manually replayed from within the app.

  • The Insights step requires the Insights sidebar item to be present. If Insights isn't available to you, the Step 1 spotlight target may not appear.

  • Existing enterprise admins and members do not see the personal FlowPro trial or trial extension screens during onboarding, as they are already on team billing.

  • When creating a team during onboarding, teammates are invited as members by default, not admins.
