Guided product tours in Wispr Flow (Team Features Intro)

Last updated: April 30, 2026

Available on: Mac, Windows

After you upgrade to a team plan, Flow runs a short guided tour that points you to the features your team just unlocked. A dimmed overlay highlights one feature at a time so you know exactly where to look.

What it is

Guided tours are short, in-app walkthroughs that appear after key moments — like upgrading your plan. Each step dims the rest of the interface and spotlights a specific element, paired with a coachmark card that explains what it does. You move through the tour at your own pace and can dismiss it at any time.

The first tour available is the Team Features Intro — a three-step walkthrough that introduces the Insights, Dictionary, and Snippets sidebar items to team users.

How it works in Flow

Overview

When a tour starts, the screen dims and a spotlight cutout appears around the highlighted feature. A coachmark card appears nearby with a title and description. You move through steps using the Back, Next, and Done buttons on the card.

Key behaviors

  • Focus overlay: A semi-transparent backdrop dims the rest of the interface, with a lit cutout around the targeted element so your eye goes straight to it.

  • Coachmark card: Each step displays a card next to the spotlight with a short explanation of the highlighted feature.

  • Navigation buttons: Use Back and Next to move between steps. The final step shows a Done button that closes the tour.

  • Dismiss at any time: Click the X on the coachmark card or press Escape to exit the tour immediately.

  • Automatic launch: The Team Features Intro tour starts automatically after you upgrade through the Flow Enterprise modal.

Examples

The Team Features Intro is a three-step tour that runs automatically after upgrading to a team plan. It walks through these sidebar items in order:

Step 1 — Insights

The tour spotlights the Insights sidebar item. The coachmark card explains what Insights shows and how your team can use it.

Step 2 — Dictionary

The spotlight moves to the Dictionary sidebar item. The coachmark explains how Dictionary lets you teach Flow custom words and terms your team uses.

Step 3 — Snippets

The final step spotlights the Snippets sidebar item and describes how Snippets work for your team. Clicking Done closes the tour.

FAQs

Why did a dimmed overlay appear over my screen?

That's the guided tour focus overlay. It dims the background and highlights a specific feature so you can find it easily. To exit immediately, press Escape or click the X on the coachmark card.

Can I replay the Team Features Intro tour?

No. The tour launches automatically after upgrading through the Enterprise modal, and there is currently no way to manually replay it after it has been dismissed or completed.

Will the tour appear again if I dismiss it early?

No. Once dismissed — whether through the X button, the Escape key, or the Done button — the tour does not reappear automatically.

Who sees the Team Features Intro tour?

Team plan users see it immediately after upgrading through the Flow Enterprise modal.

What happened to the Plans & Billing page that used to open after upgrading?

After upgrading through the Enterprise modal, Flow now launches the Team Features Intro tour instead of opening the Plans & Billing settings page. You can still open Plans & Billing directly from Settings at any time.
