Open a shared Wispr Flow note

Last updated: September 19, 2026

Available on: Web browsers on desktop and mobile. The Wispr Flow desktop app is available on Mac and Windows.

Open a shared meeting link to read its summary. You may need to sign in or switch accounts; available transcripts open in the desktop app.

Open the link and check your access

Cloud Sync isn't required to read a shared note. The owner's sharing settings and organization policy govern access, even across organizations; your own organization's sharing restriction alone doesn't determine whether you can read someone else's note.

How the note was shared

Account required

Anyone with the link

No sign-in, only when the owner's organization permits public links.

Invitation to your email address

Sign in with the invited email.

Domain sharing

Sign in as a member of the owner's Wispr organization, not merely with a matching email domain.

An internal-only organization policy blocks outside recipients even if invited. An owner-only policy blocks all recipients.

Note: The sign-in and access-denied screens cannot be dismissed with X, Escape, or an outside click. Use the browser's Back button to leave.

  1. Open the link from the sender.

  2. Sign in if prompted, using the account required above.

Signing in, including after Switch account, returns you to the same note. The preview behind the sign-in screen is a placeholder, not real note content.

Sign-in help

Use Google, Microsoft, Apple, SSO, or email and password. Provider-created accounts require that provider; organizations requiring SSO redirect you to SSO.

Email aliases containing + aren't supported. For a new account, Sign up with email requires your full name, a password of at least 6 characters, and a captcha. Complete Check your email; use Resend verification email if needed.

Forgot password? on the email/password form opens the password reset page in a new tab.

If your saved sign-in can no longer be restored or renewed, sign in again for restricted notes.

What you can read

The web viewer shows only the summary; its Transcript tab is always disabled. Only owners and explicitly invited recipients can view an existing transcript in the desktop app, and only when the owner's organization permits transcript sharing.

Link and domain viewers must ask the owner to invite their email. Their transcript explanation doesn't reveal the organization's transcript policy. Invited recipients blocked by that policy see “Transcripts aren’t shared for notes from this organization”.

“No summary available.” means there is no summary; the owner's private notes aren't substituted.

The owner's My thoughts and action items stay private. Recipients' summaries use neutral names instead of private contact labels; transcripts omit private @-mention speaker labels and contact links.

Recipient details are shared only with the owner and explicitly invited recipients. Signed-out readers do not receive the owner's email address.

Shared notes are read-only. Questions about a shared note respect its permissions; they do not grant transcript access or let you edit the note.

Open the note in the app

Note: Mobile browsers, including iPad, hide app-opening and download buttons. Use a Mac or Windows computer for transcripts.

If Flow is already installed, start at step 4. Downloads open in a new tab, leaving the note open.

  1. Download Wispr Flow if it isn't installed.

  2. Install Flow.

  3. Return to the shared link.

  4. Choose Open in Wispr Flow in the note header or prompt.

If nothing opens

After an app-opening attempt, the header button and arrival prompt are temporarily hidden for that note; other notes are unaffected.

  1. Make sure Flow is installed and open on your computer.

  2. Wait 30 seconds after the previous attempt.

  3. Reload the shared link.

  4. Choose Open in Wispr Flow again.

If the note opens in Flow, you're done. If Flow returns you to a link containing noAutoOpen=1, app-opening controls stay hidden for that URL; opening Flow first and retrying won't restore them.

On that return page, prompts offer only Sign in when signed out, and no action buttons when signed in. If Notetaker isn't available, ask the owner for the transcript; organization transcript restrictions still apply.

Automatic opening

On desktop, an already-saved browser preference can open Flow once per page load, after access checks and loading finish and no prompt is open. No opening-status message appears.

Automatic opening never runs in Firefox or with blocked browser storage, and cannot repeat for the same note within 30 seconds. Use Open in Wispr Flow manually instead.

There are no Always open in Wispr Flow or Don't show this again controls. Closing a prompt doesn't disable automatic opening.

To undo it, clear site data for notes.wisprflow.ai or manage the site's app-launch permission in your browser settings.

Closing ordinary prompts

Download/welcome and question prompts close with X, Escape, or an outside click. The signed-out arrival prompt can return after reload; prompts opened by link options do not, because dismissal removes those options from the link.

If the link will not open

Wrong account or no access

For signed-in readers, “You don't have access to this note” offers only Switch account, not a Request access button.

  1. Check the displayed email, if present.

  2. Choose Switch account in the prompt or account menu; this signs you out first.

  3. Sign in with the invited account, or your organization account for domain sharing.

If access is still denied, ask the owner to share the note with you.

The account menu also offers Sign out. Signing out immediately hides restricted content; if sign-out fails, you remain signed in.

  • Unavailable note: Unknown links and denied access can produce the same result. Ask the sender to re-share the link or grant access.

  • Incomplete link: For “Note link missing” or a full-page 404, ask the sender for the complete link.

  • Loading error: For “Unable to load note”, choose Retry. It reloads the note, not the app; a loaded summary confirms success.

  • Changed access: Ask the owner to check your invitation, sharing settings, and organization policy. Removing an invitation locks the transcript again.

Sender text in a link doesn't grant access. Link options cannot force the access-denied screen, override a genuine access block, or redirect app-opening and download buttons elsewhere.
