What you see when you open a shared Wispr Flow note link

A shared note link opens in one of several states, depending on whether you have Wispr Flow installed, are signed in, and have access to the note. Here's what each state means and what to do next.
Modal states
Dismissible modals close with the X button, by clicking outside, or with Escape. The no-access modal and the login screen can't be dismissed. Dismissing a modal lasts for the current page view only; it returns after a reload unless you checked Always open in Wispr Flow.
Download Wispr Flow
Shown when Wispr Flow isn't installed. The modal names the sender ("Alex shared a note with you"), or falls back to "This note was shared with you" when the name isn't available. Download Wispr Flow at dl.wisprflow.ai, then return to the link.
Open in Wispr Flow?
Shown when Wispr Flow is installed and you have access. Click the prompt to open the note in the app. Check Always open in Wispr Flow to stop the modal from reappearing.
You don't have access to this note
Shown when you're signed in but haven't been granted access. The modal asks you to request access from the note owner or named sharer, and shows which account you're signed in as. The only action is Switch account. This modal can't be dismissed — use your browser's Back button to leave the page.
Ask anything about this note
Shown when the shared note supports interactive Q&A. The modal directs you to open the note in Wispr Flow to ask questions about what was said.
Ask Anything bar
Once a shared note finishes loading and no sign-in is required, an Ask anything about this meeting bar appears at the bottom of the page in a desktop browser. Click it, or press Enter or Space when it's focused, to open the Ask Anything modal. It's hidden while the page is loading or checking sign-in status, when the note fails to load, when the sign-in screen is showing, and on mobile-sized screens.
Opening the note in the Wispr Flow app
On desktop, the app may launch automatically once the note loads if you're signed in. During the handoff, an Opening in Wispr Flow... modal appears with the message "Wispr Flow should be opening now. If it doesn't open automatically, make sure it's installed and try again." It offers Download Wispr Flow, Try opening Wispr Flow again, and a Don't show this again checkbox that stops future automatic handoff attempts. Dismiss it with Escape or by clicking outside.
Open in Wispr Flow also appears in the note sheet header on desktop browsers; it's hidden on mobile devices and is temporarily non-interactive while a modal is open.
Switching accounts and signing out
An account chip appears at the top of the page, or floats beside the note on wide screens. When signed out, it's a Sign in pill. When signed in, it shows your avatar or initial plus your email, and opens a menu with Switch account and Sign out under a "Signed in as [email]" header. If sign-out fails, you stay signed in.
Signing in from a shared note link
If a shared note isn't accessible to you while signed out, a full-screen, non-dismissible Login to access shared notes modal appears. If the note is readable while signed out, you see the note plus a download banner with a Download Wispr Flow button at the top of the page.
Sign in or create an account with Google, Microsoft, Apple, SSO, or email and password. The email form includes a "Forgot password?" link. After signing in, you're redirected back to the shared note.

Aliases and unsupported values
Add &sharedBy=Name to ?modal=download-wispr to show the sender's name. download, install, and shared also open the Download Wispr Flow state; desktop and open-in-flow also open the Open in Wispr Flow state; ask also opens the Ask anything state. No-access states can't be deep-linked — they appear only when a signed-in user lacks permission, so a crafted link can't force a non-dismissible modal over a readable note.
FAQs
The link shows the "Download Wispr Flow" modal, but I already have it installed.
Open Wispr Flow on your Mac so it's running, then reload the shared note link.
The modal doesn't show the sender's name — it just says "This note was shared with you."
The sender's name wasn't available from the link. If you built the link yourself, include &sharedBy=Name.
Limitations and notes
Shared note links open in a web browser on any platform, but opening a note in Wispr Flow requires the Mac app.
The download banner is shown to signed-out viewers only.
