The meeting recording-consent notice: how it's posted and how admins control it

When Notetaker joins a meeting, Wispr Flow can post a recording-consent notice into the meeting chat so participants know they're being recorded. Enterprise admins can customize or disable the notice org-wide.

How the consent notice works

When Notetaker starts, Wispr Flow finds the meeting app's chat composer, types the notice, and sends it — no action needed from you.

Supported apps

  • Zoom (desktop app)

  • Microsoft Teams (desktop app)

  • Slack huddles

  • Google Meet (in Chrome, foreground tab only)

When manual sending is required

Wispr Flow prompts you to send the notice yourself when:

  • The correct chat window can't be identified unambiguously (for example, Teams is open on a private chat)

  • The chat composer already has text in it

  • The chat panel can't be opened

  • Google Meet is in a background browser tab

  • The meeting app isn't on the supported list

Copy the notice text from the dialog and paste it into the meeting chat before continuing.

Note: If your organization requires consent confirmation and the notice couldn't be posted automatically, you'll see a "Notetaker didn't start" notification. Send the notice manually, then start Notetaker again.

Note: These settings live in the Wispr Flow admin portal and apply org-wide. Individual users cannot override them.

How turning off the consent notice affects members

With the toggle off, Wispr Flow skips both the automatic post and the manual-send prompt, so members see no consent dialog when Notetaker starts. If your organization requires consent confirmation, the notice flow still applies.

How the custom notice text works

Custom text replaces Wispr Flow's default localized notice for all members. Leave the field blank or clear it to fall back to the built-in default.

FAQs

Does the auto-post work on both Mac and Windows?

Yes, on both platforms for all supported meeting apps.

Will the auto-post overwrite text I've already typed in the chat?

No. Wispr Flow won't post over existing composer text; it prompts you to send the notice manually instead.

Will my clipboard be affected when the notice is posted?

No. Your existing clipboard contents are preserved and restored afterward.

Can individual users change the consent notice text?

No. Your organization's admin sets the text; without custom text, Wispr Flow uses its built-in default notice.

Limitations and notes

  • Notetaker is available on Mac and Windows, and is not currently available for Enterprise organizations.

  • Auto-posting is supported in Zoom (desktop), Microsoft Teams (desktop), Slack huddles, and Google Meet in Chrome, which must be the active foreground tab when Notetaker starts.

  • Custom notice text is capped at 450 characters and is configured in the Wispr Flow admin portal.
