Banking App Detection Support in Wispr Flow
Last updated: August 23, 2026
Available on: Android
Flow hides itself when you open a supported banking or financial app, so your account details stay private. It works automatically once Flow is set up — no configuration required.
How it works in Flow
Key behaviors
Automatic detection: Opening a supported banking or financial app hides the Flow Bubble and disables every activation method, including shake-to-unsnooze.
Silent operation: No notification, indicator, or on-screen message appears — the Flow Bubble simply doesn't show.
Automatic resume: Switch to another app and tap into a text field to bring up the keyboard; the Flow Bubble reappears and voice input is available again.
Important: Flow cannot insert transcribed text into a banking app. Finish dictating before switching to one if you want your text pasted.

Detection covers roughly 136 apps. The apps named below are examples only — if your bank isn't listed, it may still be supported.

FAQs
Can I turn banking detection off?
No. It is a privacy safeguard that runs automatically, with no option to disable it.
My banking app isn't detected. What should I do?
Update to the latest version of Flow. If it's still not detected, contact support with the app name and your region so it can be considered for a future update.
Does Flow hide for sensitive fields outside of banking apps?
Yes — see Limitations and notes for the full list of excluded field types and exceptions.
Can I dictate into browser address bars and notification replies?
Yes. The Flow Bubble appears in the address bar of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Samsung Internet, Opera, Vivaldi, DuckDuckGo, Kiwi, UC Browser, and Yandex. Notification reply support covers any app's inline reply across major Android manufacturers, including Samsung, Xiaomi, OPPO, OnePlus, Vivo, and Asus.
Is banking detection available on other platforms?
No, it is Android-only. On iOS, numeric keypads and email-address fields automatically switch away from the Flow Keyboard to protect sensitive input, but this is not banking-app detection.
What happens if banking detection is briefly unavailable?
Flow fails safely open — it will not incorrectly hide the bubble in every app. Password field, PIN, and other exclusions still apply.
Limitations and notes
This feature is available on Android only, and cannot be disabled.
Only apps explicitly on the supported list are detected; others will not trigger the hide behavior. Coverage is added in updates.
Password, PIN, numeric-only, and phone number fields are excluded from Flow in most apps. Browser address bars and system notification reply boxes are exceptions, and the bubble may appear in a notification reply box even for a password-type field.
Detection requires Flow to be fully set up and running in the background.
The Flow Bubble stays hidden until onboarding is complete, and does not appear inside the Wispr Flow app except on the Feedback/Report screen, Add Word dialog, Edit Profile dialog, and Report Transcription screen.
The Flow Bubble can be minimized to a dot or in search fields, and snoozed for 10 minutes by dragging it to the bottom target. Shake-to-unsnooze works in a text field but not in banking apps.
