Your Usage tab: Track your dictation stats in Wispr Flow

Note: Insights is available on Mac and Windows desktop only — not on iOS or Android.

Your usage in Insights brings your dictation speed, corrections, word totals, desktop app usage, and streaks together so you can track your personal activity over time.

Open Your usage

Open the Wispr Flow desktop app.
Click Insights in the left sidebar.
Select Your usage if you switched to another tab.

Your usage is the default, always-visible tab. Insights returns to it if a selected or linked tab becomes unavailable. Your voice is hidden when your local-data policy requires data deletion.

Read your stats

Tile	What it measures
Words per minute	Recent dictation speed, not a lifetime average.
Fixes made by Flow	Automatic corrections from desktop and mobile combined.
Total Words Dictated	Lifetime words from desktop and mobile combined.
Desktop usage	Desktop-only categories and distinct apps, excluding mobile.
Activity heatmap	Daily activity and current and longest streaks.

How speed is measured

WPM uses up to your 100 most recent transcripts containing words and recordings shorter than 400 seconds. Speech duration excludes silence when available; otherwise, recording duration is used. No qualifying duration means 0 WPM.

The info tooltip, “Compared to global typing speeds,” refers to a published keyboard-typing study—not other Flow users. Speed is rounded to a whole number. “Top X%” uses one decimal within the top 1% and whole numbers otherwise, ranging from “Top 0.1%” to “Top 99%”. The label is absent at 0 WPM or when no valid percentile is available.

Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Khmer, and Lao dictation is supported, including word counting without spaces; counts can differ by ±1 word across platforms. Use the latest version of Wispr Flow.

What counts as a correction

“words corrected” covers filler words such as “um” and “like” and other corrections; “dictionary fixes” includes dictionary and snippet substitutions. The headline adds both counts. Each zero-count row is hidden. Counts of 1,000,000+ are abbreviated, such as “1.2M”.

How word totals and monthly comparisons work

Headline and platform counts are unabridged. With mobile words, hover the proportional Desktop/Mobile bar for exact counts; zero desktop words leaves only Mobile. Without mobile words, Download on mobile opens the mobile dialog.

Comparison taglines always appear on the Total words dictated share card, but appear in this tile only with mobile words.

The monthly badge compares this month so far with the same days last month, capped to that month's length. “12% this month” has no sign; the arrow and color indicate direction. Large percentages are abbreviated, such as “1.2K% this month”.

No badge appears without comparison data, with zero previous-period words, or for accounts created after the first day of last month. Dictating alone doesn't create it. “0% this month” remains visible with a neutral downward arrow but no tooltip.

Hover a nonzero badge with a positive prior-period count for “{current} words compared to {previous} words this time last month”. The current figure is approximate; tooltip counts above 100,000 are abbreviated. The badge updates after dictation, except across month-end until the next background refresh.

How desktop categories are counted

All six categories—personal messages, work messages, emails, AI prompts, documents, other tasks—remain visible, including zeros. Before usage is ready, all can show zero; they populate as you dictate.

Bars and rounded percentages measure word share, not time. Rows rank highest word count first; colors reflect rank. Displayed counts represent dictations, except emails use half and documents one-fifth, rounded.

Hover for exact words and 🚀 Power usage (10,000+ words), 👍 Moderate usage (1,000–9,999), or 🤏 Light usage (under 1,000).

Read your activity and streaks

Longest streak is hidden at zero. Outlines and “Current streak” appear only for streaks longer than one day, ending at your last activity—not today—so the highlight can remain during a grace period.

The Sun–Sat grid shades daily words in bands: 0, 1–249, 250–499, 500–749, 750+. Hover an available day for its full date, combined desktop/mobile words, apps used, and top app (— when none). Same-app desktop, mobile, and website activity counts as one app for that day, using product names.

History starts on your account creation date or 1 March 2025, whichever is later. Earlier and future cells are blank without tooltips. Arrows move four weeks, stopping at the history limit or present. Widen Flow to see more weeks; narrow windows can omit month labels.

Updates and privacy

Stats refresh at app start and about hourly; errors provide the only manual retry controls. Loaded totals, corrections, categories, WPM, and today's activity update after dictations containing words. Streaks and app counts need loaded heatmap data. WPM needs loaded stats and positive qualifying speed; unavailable comparison data can leave its previous percentile unchanged. With no Insights data loaded, wait for the next refresh.

Updates preserve recent dictation totals instead of replacing them with older figures. Failed background refreshes can leave previously loaded stats and heatmap visible.

Note: Signing out immediately clears locally saved stats and heatmap so another person won't see your numbers. The next sign-in starts loading, not in error. Being asked to sign in again without signing out does not clear these local figures.

Share or view team usage

Share enables after main stats load, even if the heatmap is pending. Your Flow activity requires loaded heatmap data; Where you Flow requires desktop breakdown entries.

Click Share on Your usage.
Choose a card with the arrows, then select Copy image, Download, X, or LinkedIn.
Paste the copied image into your post when sharing to X or LinkedIn.

Social sharing opens a browser compose page with pre-filled text; if copying fails, it doesn't open. Downloads use the card title and date.

Organization Admins, Super Admins, and IT Admins can click See team usage beside Share on Your usage to open the team dashboard in their default browser. This is role-based, not plan-based; non-admins and people without an organization don't see it.

If stats don't load

Main stats are missing or failed

Your usage shows “Something went wrong loading your insights.”

Click Try again to reload both stats and heatmap.

Only the heatmap failed

Streaks and other tiles remain visible without the calendar grid.

Click Retry on the heatmap tile to reload its grid.

Retries return to loading. If numbers or the calendar appear, loading succeeded. If the error persists, close and reopen the Insights page.
