Your Usage tab: Track your dictation stats in Wispr Flow

See your dictation speed, automatic corrections, total words, and activity streak at a glance. On an Enterprise plan, you can also see the Leaderboard with full team rankings.

What it is

Insights is a page in the Wispr Flow desktop app. The tab order in the app is Your Usage → Your Voice → Leaderboard, but not every tab is shown for every user:

• Your Usage: Always shown. Five tiles tracking your personal dictation activity.

• Your Voice: Appears only when your data storage is set to the default policy (Store Normally). Covered in a separate article.

• Leaderboard: Appears only when you're eligible — on a Pro Team plan, any Enterprise membership, part of an existing same-domain team, or when you have 2+ same-domain Flow colleagues.

When to use it

Open Insights when you want to:

• Check your average dictation speed and see how you compare to global typing speeds.

• See how many corrections Flow has made for you automatically.

• Track which apps you dictate into most often.

• Review your dictation streak and overall consistency.

• See how your team ranks by usage (eligible users).

• Jump to your team's usage dashboard in the Admin Portal (admins in an Enterprise organization).

How it works in Flow

Overview

Open Insights in the desktop app and pick a tab. The main tiles and the activity heatmap load independently, and each has its own Try Again control if something fails to load.

Your Usage key behaviors

• Words per minute (WPM): An animated semicircular gauge shows your average dictation speed as a rounded whole number, plus your percentile compared to global typing speeds (e.g., "Top 4%"). Hover the info icon next to the "Words per minute" label for the tooltip "Compared to global typing speeds." Both values update immediately after each dictation. The percentile has a minimum of "Top 0.1%" for the very top tier and is otherwise capped at "Top 99%." WPM is calculated accurately for all supported languages, including Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Khmer, and Lao.

• Corrections by Flow: The number of transcription corrections Flow made automatically — including filler words like "um" and "like" — plus dictionary and snippet substitutions applied during your sessions. The tile breaks the count into two rows: words corrected and dictionary fixes.

• Total words dictated: A running count of every word you've dictated using Flow. A badge shows the percent change (e.g., "+12% this month") comparing your word count so far this month against your full word count from the previous month, and updates immediately after each dictation. The badge is hidden when there's no prior-month data. Hover the badge to see a tooltip in the format "{current} words compared to {previous} words this time last month" — the tooltip only appears when prior-period data exists and the change is non-zero.

• Desktop app usage breakdown: A horizontal bar chart shows how you spend your dictation time across categories — personal messages, work messages, emails, AI prompts, documents, and other tasks. Each row shows the dictation count next to the category label, with a percentage displayed inside the bar. Bars are colored by rank: your top app is darkest, second and third are a medium shade, and the rest are lightest. Hover a bar to see the intensity label ("Light usage," "Moderate usage," or "Power usage") and the raw word count. Intensity thresholds: Light <1,000 words, Moderate 1,000–9,999, Power 10,000+.

• Usage streak heatmap: A calendar view of your dictation activity. Days in your current streak glow; the glow only appears when your current streak is greater than 1 day, and ends on the most recent day you dictated (it does not extend to today if you haven't dictated yet). Other active days are shaded by word count. Hover any cell to see total words (combined desktop and mobile), apps used, and your top app for that day. Use the arrow buttons above the calendar to navigate to earlier periods — each click jumps back 4 weeks.

• Retry behavior: If the main stats fail to load, the Your Usage section is replaced by a single Try Again button that retries both the main stats and the activity heatmap. The heatmap also has its own independent Try Again control.

• Share button: Opens a carousel of branded share cards. Each card can be copied, downloaded as an image, or shared to X or LinkedIn. When the See team usage button is visible (enterprise admins only), the share button appears in a smaller size next to it.

• See team usage button (enterprise admins only): Appears in the header of the Your Usage tab for admins in an Enterprise organization (Admin, Super Admin, or IT Admin roles). Clicking it opens the team usage dashboard in the Admin Portal in your browser.

Leaderboard key behaviors

• Podium and table views: Top-ranked members appear in a podium view, with the full team ranking shown in a table below.

• Sort metric and time-range controls: Choose the sort metric from a picker in the leaderboard table's stat column header. The time-range filter (This week / All time) and the history dropdown for browsing past weekly leaderboards sit above the table.

• Available sort metrics: Total words, Words per minute, Current daily streak, Desktop words, and Mobile words. Words per minute and Current daily streak are available only for "All time" — they are hidden when "This week" is selected. If you switch the sort metric to Words per minute or Current daily streak while "This week" is active, the time range automatically switches to "All time."

• Pagination and Jump to me: The leaderboard shows 20 rows per page. Pagination controls only appear when a team has more than 20 members. Click Jump to me to scroll directly to your row. You can also click the page-range number to type any rank and jump directly to that position. Jump to me is disabled (with a tooltip) if your account cannot be identified.

• Refresh cadence: The leaderboard refreshes hourly.

• Business plan member view: Members on a Business plan see full, unlocked rankings and a Share button that opens a leaderboard share card. The card can be copied as an image, downloaded, or shared to X or LinkedIn.

• Locked preview: When the leaderboard isn't unlocked for you, a static preview image appears with one of four prompts:

  • Same-domain users whose organization has no team yet — option to Create team (shown regardless of how many same-domain colleagues you have).

  • Same-domain users with an existing team — option to Request to join. After you submit a request, the button changes to a disabled "Request sent" state.

  • Enterprise members without a Business plan — option to Upgrade to enterprise.

  • Enterprise Business plan members whose organization has only one active member — option to Invite team members.

  A user with no applicable team status and no enterprise sees a plain empty-state message rather than one of the four locked preview options.

• Same-domain visibility: Any user with 2+ same-domain Flow colleagues sees the Leaderboard tab, even without a Pro Team or Enterprise plan — they see a locked preview prompting them to create a team.

• Weekly rank notifications: Eligible users receive a weekly rank notification after each weekly reset. Users in the top 5 get a celebration variant; rank 6 and below get a smaller notification. Users with fewer than 100 words in the previous week are excluded (a user with exactly 100 words qualifies), and unranked users receive no notification. Notifications are also suppressed when an enterprise admin has hidden the leaderboard. These can be muted under Team Leaderboard Updates in notification settings.

• Admin-controlled visibility: Admins can toggle "Hide team leaderboard" in settings. When enabled, the Leaderboard tab is hidden in-app from everyone in the organization, including admins.

Best practices

• Hover heatmap cells and bar chart segments to surface details that aren't visible by default.

• Wait for your main stats to finish loading before clicking Share — the button stays disabled until they're ready. It may become active before the activity heatmap has finished loading.

• If you're an admin in an Enterprise organization, use See team usage in the Your Usage header to quickly access your team's usage dashboard in the Admin Portal.

How to open Insights

1. Open the Wispr Flow desktop app.

2. Click Insights in the left sidebar of the app window.

3. Select the Your Usage or Leaderboard tab at the top of the page. Tiles and rankings populate as your data loads.

4. Adjust the Leaderboard view as needed: use the time-range filter (This week / All time) above the table, and use the picker in the stat column header to change the sort metric.

Examples

The share carousel contains up to 12 cards, in this order: Flow Highlights → Total Words → Flow Streak → How Fast You Flow (WPM) → Your Flow Activity (only when the heatmap has loaded) → Where You Flow (only when your desktop usage breakdown has entries) → Voice Profile → Flow Superlatives → When you Flow the most (the last three only when a Voice Profile exists).

The Voice Profile, Flow Superlatives, and "When you Flow the most" cards all appear together whenever a Voice Profile exists — they may render with "–" placeholders if the profile is still processing or failed.

FAQs

Limitations and notes

• Insights is available on Mac and Windows desktop only — not on iOS or Android.

• The desktop app usage breakdown only reflects apps you've dictated into on desktop. Mobile dictation is not included.

• The Your Voice tab is only visible when your data storage is set to the default policy (Store Normally). It is hidden for users on a data-deletion policy. An enterprise-enforced deletion policy overrides your personal preference.

• The Leaderboard is rolling out gradually — if you're on an eligible plan and don't see it yet, check back after your next app update.

• Users with 2+ Flow colleagues on the same email domain also see the Leaderboard tab even without a Pro Team or Enterprise plan — they see a locked preview prompting them to create a team.

• Enterprise Business plan members whose organization has only one active member see an Invite Members overlay instead of the full leaderboard.

• The Share button and unlocked rankings on the Leaderboard are available to all members on an active Business plan, not only admins.

• Admins can hide the Leaderboard tab from the entire organization via admin settings. This applies to both Pro Team and Enterprise plans.

• The heatmap displays data back to your account creation date or March 1, 2025 — whichever is more recent.

• Sharing to X or LinkedIn copies the card image to your clipboard and opens the platform's compose page — paste the image manually to complete your post.

• WPM values are shown as rounded whole numbers. The "Top X%" percentile is ranked against global typing speeds, with a minimum of "Top 0.1%" and a maximum of "Top 99%."

• On the Leaderboard, Words per minute and Current daily streak are only available as sort metrics for the "All time" range. The leaderboard refreshes hourly. Pagination controls only appear when a team has more than 20 members.

• The See team usage button in the Your Usage header is only visible to admins in an Enterprise organization (Admin, Super Admin, or IT Admin roles). It is not shown to standalone Pro Team plan users or non-admin members.
