Connectors in Wispr Flow: connect, disconnect, and organization-blocked connectors

Available on: Mac

Connectors link external apps like your calendar and Slack to Wispr Flow, so Flow can give you accurate reminders, summaries, and briefs. Manage them in Settings → Connectors. If your organization manages Flow, admins choose which connectors members can use.

How it works in Flow

Key behaviors

  • Disabled by your admin: The connector is hidden throughout the app — onboarding, the calendar connect modal, the meeting recorder, and the Flow Bar meeting drawer. If all calendar providers are disabled, the onboarding calendar step is removed.

  • Disabled but still connected: The connector stays visible in Settings → Connectors with a blocked description. Connect is disabled and Reconnect is hidden, leaving only Disconnect, so you can always revoke your own access.

  • Needs a new sign-in: Flagged when the connection has expired, was revoked at the provider, or the provider or organization requires re-consent. If you signed in without granting all requested permissions, Flow shows a "finish connecting" prompt.

  • Catalog fails to load: Connectors appear grayed out. Allowed connectors keep working, and connectors already known to be disabled stay hidden.

  • Meeting transcript access: A hint below the connector cards offers your AI access to your meeting transcripts and notes; Go to MCP switches Settings to the MCP tab.

  • Policy refresh: Admin changes to the connector list appear promptly. Calendar data refreshes automatically.

What you'll see if a connection fails

After authorizing a connector, Flow shows a result page. On success it reads "You're all set — [App] is connected. Open Wispr Flow to continue." and the app reopens automatically. Otherwise you'll see one of these:

  • Connection blocked — Your organization's policy blocked the connection. Ask your admin.

  • Admin approval required — Ask your admin to approve the app.

  • Connection cancelled — Permissions weren't granted. Connect again and accept the requested permissions.

  • One more step — Calendar access wasn't granted. Re-open the connector and grant calendar access.

  • Different account — Disconnect the current account, then reconnect with the other one.

  • No calendar available — This Microsoft account has no readable calendar.

  • Something went wrong — An unexpected error occurred. Contact support at support@wisprflow.ai.

What happens when you disconnect

Disconnecting revokes access at the provider, stops calendar updates, and removes calendar events from Flow.

Admin controls (Enterprise)

Enterprise admins manage connector access in the Wispr Flow admin portal, governing each connector independently. Non-admin members see connector settings as read-only, and connector names always reflect the list your organization has configured.

Note: Re-enabling a connector restores an existing connection without a new sign-in.

FAQs

Why does the intro message on the Connectors page appear or disappear?

It hides once Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, or Slack is connected and healthy; other connectors have no effect on it. It returns if one of those is disconnected, needs a new sign-in, has incomplete permissions, or failed to connect, and never shows while the catalog is loading or failed to load. Each connector's own description stays visible in all states.

Why does the Connectors page say "Couldn't load connectors. Check your connection."?

Flow couldn't retrieve your organization's connector list, usually a network issue. Confirm your device is online and try again. If it persists, contact your IT admin or Wispr Flow support.

Can I re-enable a blocked connector myself?

No. Only your admin can re-enable a connector blocked by your organization.

If my admin blocks one calendar provider, can I still use another?

Yes. Calendar providers are governed independently, so blocking one has no effect on your other calendar connections.

I don't see a connector I expected during onboarding. Why?

A connector your organization disabled won't appear in onboarding or connection modals. Contact your admin if it should be available to you.

Limitations and notes

  • All connectors are enabled by default unless an admin disables them.

  • The Connectors page, organization-level controls, and meeting detection are available on Mac only. Windows support is not yet available.

  • Connecting LinkedIn on desktop opens your browser and returns you to Flow. The LinkedIn Connected Apps surfaces on iOS and Android are not yet available.

  • Connector access controls in the admin portal are available to Enterprise organizations only.

  • Outlook Calendar is rolling out gradually and may not yet appear in your connector list.

  • Some accounts cannot add additional calendar connections.
