Login Issues with Wispr Flow
Last updated: August 31, 2026
Available on: Mac, Windows, iOS, Android
If Wispr Flow shows "account not found," keeps rejecting your password, or gets stuck on a loading screen after login, the fixes below will get you signed in. Most issues resolve in under 2 minutes.
Note: Sign in with Apple, Google, Microsoft, SSO, or email and password. On desktop, pick a provider in the browser after clicking Sign in via browser. On iOS, Google and Apple appear by default; tap More Options for Microsoft, SSO, and email. On Android, all five appear on the login screen.
Quick checks
Is your login method correct? Use the same option (Apple, Google, Microsoft, SSO, or email) you created the account with; if unsure, try each with your email address.
Is your email address exact? Enter the exact email associated with your account, including any dots or aliases.
Does login work after restarting Flow? Fully quit the app (not just minimize), reopen it, and sign in. If login works, you're done. If not, continue below.
How to fix this
Step 1: Update Wispr Flow
Outdated versions can cause login failures.
Mac
Click the Wispr Flow icon in your menu bar.
Select Wispr Flow → Check for updates, or download the latest version from your original download link.
Windows
Open Wispr Flow and install any prompted updates.
If no prompt appears, download the latest version from your admin's installer link.
iOS
Open the App Store and tap your profile icon.
Scroll to Wispr Flow and tap Update if available.
Android
Open the Google Play Store and search for Wispr Flow.
Tap Update if available.
Sign in again. If it succeeds, you're done. If not, continue to Step 2.
Step 2: Try browser sign-in (desktop only)
On desktop, browser sign-in is the only sign-in path.
Click Sign in via browser on the left panel of the login screen — you don't need to enter your email first.
Complete sign-in on the Wispr Flow website that opens, using Google, Apple, Microsoft, or SSO.
Return to the desktop app — Flow brings its own window to the front automatically.
Important: An in-app sign-in attempt eventually stops waiting — click Sign in via browser again to start a new one. An emailed link stays valid for a while longer, including after a restart of Flow.
If your connection drops mid-sign-in, Flow retries automatically and also accepts completion via the emailed link, so you rarely need to restart.
If you're logged in, you're done. If not, continue to Step 3.
Step 3: Restart your device
Restart your device to clear temporary system issues, then open Wispr Flow and log in. If login succeeds, you're done. If not, continue to Step 4.
Step 4: Reinstall Wispr Flow
Note: Reinstalling does not delete your account or cloud-synced data. On iOS, the first launch after reinstalling always asks you to sign in again.
Mac
Quit Wispr Flow completely (menu bar icon → Quit Flow).
Move Wispr Flow from Applications to the Trash, then empty the Trash.
Download and install the latest version of Wispr Flow.
Open Wispr Flow and sign in.
Windows
Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps (or Apps & features).
Find Wispr Flow and uninstall it.
Restart your PC.
Install the latest version of Wispr Flow and sign in.
iOS
Press and hold the Wispr Flow icon, then tap Remove App → Delete App and confirm.
Open the App Store, search for Wispr Flow, and reinstall it.
Open Wispr Flow and sign in.
Android
Press and hold the Wispr Flow icon, then tap Uninstall and confirm.
Open the Google Play Store, search for Wispr Flow, and reinstall it.
Open Wispr Flow and sign in.
If you can sign in, you're done. If not, see Still need help? below.
FAQs
"Account not found" or unrecognized email
An unrecognized email routes you to the account-creation flow with your email pre-filled instead of showing an error. If you already have an account, you may have used a different email or a social sign-in (Google, Apple, Microsoft, or SSO) — try those instead.
"Email is already associated with a [Provider] account"
Your email is already linked to a social login provider. Sign in with the provider your account was created with; if you're unsure which, try each option with that email address.
"Wrong password," repeated password errors, or "Incorrect email or password" on iOS
Your account likely uses a social login provider that manages your password. Recheck both fields; if you signed up with Apple, Google, Microsoft, or SSO, use that option instead (on iOS, tap More Options). If you've forgotten your password, use the password reset option on the sign-in screen.
Password requirements not met
Android: your password cannot equal your full name, and password and confirmation must match. Sign-up also requires a Full name field.
iOS: only the 8-character minimum is enforced — no confirm-password field and no name-equality check.
"Connection problem" on iOS
Wispr Flow can't reach the internet during sign-in. Check for an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection and try again. On a corporate or restricted network, switch networks or disable your VPN.
"Couldn't sign you in" or "Something went wrong" on iOS
"Couldn't sign you in" appears when Wispr Flow is temporarily unable to complete sign-in; "Something went wrong" appears in unusual edge cases. Wait a moment and try again; if it persists, restart the app or check for an update in the App Store.
Email verification not received, expired, or timed out
Check your spam or junk folder. If you didn't receive it or the link expired, return to the sign-in screen, request a new verification email, and make sure you have the latest version installed. Verification completes automatically — there's no button to press in the app. An expired link returns you to the account creation page; if your email is already verified, you're routed to the login page instead.
On Android, verification can time out, showing "Verification timed out. Please check your email and try again." Flow checks automatically for several minutes and signs you in once verified. Restarting the app mid-flow shows "Session expired. Please sign up again." and you must sign up again; repeated network errors stop the check with "Unable to reach the server. Please check your connection and try again."
Note: Opening a verification link on your phone takes you to the Wispr Flow get-started page after verification, not a desktop download page.
Password reset email not received
Check your spam or junk folder. After submitting the forgot-password form, you should see a "Password reset email sent" confirmation. If you don't, make sure you have the latest version installed and request the reset again.
Verification challenge appears during account creation or password reset
A verification challenge can appear during account creation, password reset, and verification resend — not during standard login. If it can't load, the relevant button (Create Account, Send Reset Email, or Resend Verification Email) stays disabled; try a different sign-in method or check your connection.
On iOS, if the verification service can't start, you'll see "Please try a different sign-in method" with a single Go back button.
Too many sign-up or resend attempts
If you repeat sign-up or verification-resend attempts for the same email address, you'll see "Too many attempts — please try again later." Wait a few minutes and try again, or use a different sign-in method. "Service temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." is a different condition and usually clears on its own.
Failed to sign in with email alias (+)
Email aliases containing + (for example, user+alias@example.com) can't create new accounts; you'll see "Email aliases (containing +) are not supported. Please use your original email address." Existing alias accounts can still sign in.
Stuck on loading screen or spinner after login
A brief spinner while your session is established is expected. If it persists:
Check your internet connection or switch networks (for example, Wi-Fi to cellular).
Temporarily disable VPNs or strict firewalls.
Close and relaunch the app after a few seconds.
On Android, an unfinished sign-in shows "Sign-in didn't finish. Please try again." If the app was closed mid-flow you'll see "Finish signing in — We lost track of your {Provider} sign-in. Pick up where you left off." with a Try again option for Google, Apple, and Microsoft. If the server stays unreachable, sign-in stops with "Unable to reach the server. Please check your connection and try again."
Browser doesn't open when signing in on desktop
Open your default browser manually, then click Sign in via browser again. If it persists, confirm a default browser is set in your system settings, restart Wispr Flow, and try again.
On Android, if no browser can be opened, Flow retries once automatically and then shows "Couldn't open the sign-in page. Please try again."
"No web browser found. Try another way." on Android
No browser is available on the device — common on Samsung devices where the default browser is disabled. Open Settings → Apps, find Samsung Internet or Chrome, tap Enable, then return to Wispr Flow and sign in again.
I see the success screen but get redirected back to login
This login loop usually happens when you have accounts on two different email domains — for example, after a company rebrand or merger. Contact support with both email addresses so we can merge them into a single account.
Signed out unexpectedly
Wispr Flow couldn't refresh your login session. Sign in again with your usual method; on desktop, re-authentication opens your browser and may complete seamlessly if your browser session is still valid. If this repeats, check your internet connection and confirm your device's clock is correct.
A failed desktop attempt shows "Failed to sign in — We are having trouble signing you in." with a Contact us button. On iOS, the Flow Keyboard shows "You're logged out / You must be logged in to use Flow" with a Log in button. You can also sign out from the Account page; after a manual sign-out, the next browser sign-in shows the login form again instead of reusing your browser session.
Signing out removes transcript history and local caches from that device (on Android, transcripts stored on the device are explicitly deleted) and resets preferences to defaults. Cloud-synced data such as notes, dictionary, and snippets is restored after you sign back in.
"SSO Sign In Required"
Your email domain belongs to an organization that requires SSO. On desktop, click Sign in via browser and choose the SSO option with your organization email; on mobile, use the SSO option on the login screen. If the SSO option isn't offered for your account, contact your administrator — enterprise SSO is being rolled out gradually.
SSO enforcement applies only while your organization has active billing; if the subscription lapses, SSO is no longer enforced.
SSO users cannot log in
Use your organization email with the SSO option — not a personal email or another login method. On Android, tap Continue with SSO, enter your organization email, and complete authentication. On desktop, use Sign in via browser (see "SSO Sign In Required").
If SSO fails, Flow shows "Failed to sign in with SSO. Please try again." Confirm with your IT team that SSO is fully configured and your account is assigned to the Wispr Flow SSO app, then retry.
Tip: Press Enter to advance through the SSO login flow instead of clicking the buttons.
"Account Managed by Your Organization"
This appears when creating a new account on a domain your organization manages. If you already have an account, sign in normally. Otherwise, contact your IT administrator for access — they provision accounts for your organization, and you may receive a welcome or invitation email automatically.
"You cannot use Wispr Flow as an IT Admin"
You're signed in with an IT Admin seat, which manages your organization's account rather than dictation. Either:
Upgrade your seat type: click Go to Admin Portal to open admin.wisprflow.ai and change your seat type from IT Admin to Admin. The screen dismisses automatically once updated.
Sign out: click Sign out, then sign back in with your regular Wispr Flow user account.
Signed in via team invite link but see "Failed to sign in"
Your sign-in may have succeeded while the invite failed to apply. Sign in again normally and ask your admin to re-send the invite.
Can't access account after trying to change login method or email
Wispr Flow doesn't support switching login methods or linking multiple emails to one account. Sign in with your original login method and email. To use a new email, create a separate Wispr Flow account.
"Subscription Linked to Another Account" when restoring purchase on iOS
Your Apple ID subscription is already linked to a different Wispr Flow account. Sign in with the account that purchased the subscription, or contact support. Other restore outcomes on iOS:
Entitlement Found: restore succeeded.
No Active Subscription Found: no subscription is associated with this Apple ID.
Purchase Found, Sync Needed: sync failure — retry the restore.
"You don't have access" on a shared note at notes.wisprflow.ai
You may be signed into the wrong account; the message shows the email you're currently signed in with.
Wrong account: click Switch account. You'll be signed out, taken to the login page, and returned to the note automatically after signing in.
Not signed in: click Sign in and log in with the account that has access.
Correct account but still blocked: ask the note's owner to check your sharing permissions.
Limitations and notes
On Android, provider buttons are disabled while a sign-in attempt is in progress, so a second tap won't start a parallel attempt. On iOS, tapping another provider cancels and replaces the first attempt.
On Android, SSO and email sign-in attempts can't be resumed after the app is closed mid-flow — you must re-enter your email, whereas Google, Apple, and Microsoft offer a Try again option.
