The 'Rate Wispr Flow' notification on Android: how it works and how to stop it

Wispr Flow may send one notification asking you to rate the app on Google Play. Tapping it opens Flow and shows the standard Google Play in-app review prompt. Here's when it appears and how to turn it off.

How it works

Key behaviors

  • Once per version: The notification appears at most once per app version, and it stops once you rate the app or dismiss the in-app review prompt.

  • ' Cleared on logout: Signing out of Wispr Flow clears any pending review notification.

  • Limited rollout: Some users won't see the notification at all, even after updating.

  • Respects notification settings: You won't receive it if you've disabled notifications for Wispr Flow or muted the App Feedback channel, which is separate from the accessibility notifications Flow needs to function.

How to mute review notifications

  1. Open your device's Settings app.

  2. Go to Apps (or App Management, depending on your device) and tap Wispr Flow.

  3. Tap Notifications.

  4. Find the App Feedback channel and toggle it off. The toggle stays off and no further review prompts arrive.

Note: Turning off the App Feedback channel silences review prompts only. Flow's other notifications, including accessibility services, are on separate channels and are unaffected.

FAQs

I updated the app but didn't get a notification — is something wrong?

No. The rollout is limited, so not everyone on every version receives it.

If I dismiss the notification without tapping it, will it come back?

Not for that app version — once dismissed, it counts as shown. It may appear again after a new version of Wispr Flow is released.

Does this affect Flow's accessibility or dictation features?

No. Muting or turning off the App Feedback channel has no effect on dictation, accessibility services, or any other Flow notifications.
