Manage Cost Centers in Flow Enterprise
Last updated: September 21, 2026
Available on: Wispr Flow Growth and Enterprise plans
If you're an admin wondering why your plan shows as Enterprise, why your team never sees trial reminders, or which data controls you can set for members — this covers all three.
How plan recognition works
Flow Growth: The label the admin portal shows for Enterprise organizations on the business billing tier; the plan type is still Enterprise. A canceled enterprise can display plan "N/A."
Flow Enterprise: Sales-led. Self-serve checkout accepts only Business Monthly/Yearly and legacy Team Monthly/Yearly. Enterprise cost centers are provisioned by Wispr and billed annually at the standard annual Enterprise price via emailed invoice, not card checkout.
Team plans: Team Monthly and Team Yearly are separate plans and count as neither Growth nor Enterprise.
Mobile labels: Mobile never shows a Growth label. iOS folds Pro, Student, and Team into a single "Pro"/"Pro Trial" badge and shows "Enterprise" only while a Business plan is active or trialing; an expired or canceled Business subscription does not display as Enterprise. Android shows a plan pill only on paid plans: Pro, Pro Trial, Student, Growth or Enterprise (team accounts read Pro; Free shows no pill).
Trial handling: Accounts attached to an Enterprise org use Enterprise trial and subscription handling, and are excluded from desktop trial reminders and the desktop trial-extension program. Some iOS surfaces treat any trialing plan, including Enterprise, as "basic-like."
Multiple cost centers: The admin billing block is intentionally blank rather than showing one aggregated plan.
Admin data controls by plan
Admins configure data controls for all members in Organization settings in the Flow admin portal. Available settings depend on your plan.
Team plan
Cloud data storage policy: Under "Dictation history retention," choose "Never store data in cloud" or "Managed individually," where each member chooses their own setting. Requires an active or trialing Team or Enterprise subscription.
Enterprise plan
Enterprise admins get all Team controls, plus:
Local data policy: Store normally, delete after 24 hours, or never store. Also under "Dictation history retention."
Zero Data Retention: Can be locked on for all members.
Disable data sharing: Forces Privacy Mode on for all members.
Disable cloud sync: Turns off syncing for all members. See "How the Cloud Sync block appears to members" below.
Disable Scratchpad: Turns off Scratchpad (Notes) for all members org-wide. See "How the Scratchpad disable appears to members" below.
SSO/SAML and auto-invite by domain: Control how members sign in and join. Auto-invite requires a linked and verified domain; otherwise contact enterprise@wispr.ai.
Context awareness policy: Set to "Available" or "Disable for all users."
Disable free trial for new members joining this organization: Removes the trial for new members. Irreversible.
Org-wide HIPAA / BAA: View and accept the BAA. Once signed, the portal shows "BAA signed by {name} on {date}" and a "Revoke BAA" option. HIPAA disables Notetaker and Scratchpad and blocks cross-device features.
SOC 2: Links to the SOC 2 trust portal at trust.wispr.ai.
MDM Rollout (Optional): Begin managed deployment with "Start MDM Setup."
Hide leaderboard: Hides the leaderboard for all members.
Organization name: Editable by admins only.
How the Cloud Sync block appears to members
With the policy active, members see a full-screen Cloud Sync gate. Admins get a modal linking to Organization settings; non-admin members get an org-named blocked modal with a one-time "Request access" action.
A member who turned Cloud Sync off themselves instead sees a lighter banner that re-enables it directly.
Affected actions show the message "Cloud Sync must be enabled to use this feature."
How the Scratchpad disable appears to members
Scratchpad is removed from the Hub sidebar and navigation, all entry points and hotkey options are hidden, any open Scratchpad windows close, and local note reads and cloud note syncing stop. Any action that would normally open Scratchpad (such as polishing text in a non-editable field) shows a "text not editable" notification instead.
Notes are preserved on the server and restored automatically if the org re-enables Scratchpad, along with the keyboard shortcut (unless it was rebound in the meantime).
Who can change these settings
Non-admins see "Only admins can modify this." Without an active or trialing subscription, the cloud data storage dropdown is disabled with the tooltip "An active subscription is required to modify this setting."
The permissiveness model, per the in-product tooltip: "You choose the most permissive option allowed. Members can pick a stricter option in their Wispr Flow app, but never a looser one."
Note: Some org-level changes require members to quit and reopen the app before they take effect. If a setting fails to save, the previous value is restored and an error appears.
