Navigating the Wispr Flow App: Desktop, iOS, and Android
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Available on: Mac, Windows, iOS, Android
Wispr Flow works a little differently on each platform. This guide shows you where everything lives on Desktop, iOS, and Android so you can find your history, adjust settings, and dictate confidently on any device.
Desktop (Mac & Windows)
On desktop, Wispr Flow lives in two places: the Hub (the main app window) and the Flow Bar (the floating control at the bottom of your screen). Most day-to-day dictation happens through the Flow Bar and your hotkey, while the Hub is where you manage history, personalization, and settings.
The Hub sidebar
The sidebar on the left is your main navigation. From top to bottom, the primary pages are:
Home: your dictation history and stats at a glance.
Dictionary: custom words and replacements.
Snippets: saved text blocks you trigger by voice.
Style: your tone and writing style controls.
Scratchpad: voice notes with cloud sync.
At the bottom of the sidebar you'll find Settings and Help, plus Refer a Friend and Invite your team (depending on your plan).
Home
Home is your landing page. On the left you'll see a welcome header with your total word count and dictation shortcut, followed by your full transcript history, grouped by day (Today, Yesterday, then by date). On the right is a stats card showing your streak, average WPM, and total words. Search your history from the top of the page, and hover any transcript to copy, flag, or take action on it.
Dictionary & Snippets
Both pages share a similar layout with All, Personal, and Shared with team tabs. You can add, edit, delete, and search entries.
Dictionary: sort by Starred First, Newest, Oldest, or Alphabetical, and star words for higher priority.
Snippets: sort by Newest, Oldest, or Alphabetical (no starring).
Style
Style is where you control how you sound with Wispr Flow.
Locations: Personal message, Work messages, Email, Other.
Style range: very casual, casual, formal, excited.
Auto clean up (Beta): choose how much Flow cleans up your speech automatically across all apps.
Scratchpad
Scratchpad (Beta) is your notes space. It has a Recents tab with search, a + button for new notes, and a refresh button. Hover any note to edit, pin, or delete it.
The Flow Bar
The Flow Bar is the floating control at the bottom of your screen. Click the center bubble to start dictating, or right-click it for quick options. During recording you'll see a live waveform with Cancel and Stop buttons.
You can drag the Flow Bar to reposition it. Click and drag the bubble to see drop zones appear along the bottom, left, and right edges of your screen — release on a zone to snap the bar there. Your chosen position is saved and persists across app launches. When docked to a side edge, the Flow Bar reorients vertically. Press Escape while dragging to cancel and return the bar to its previous position.
Note: The Flow Bar is hidden by default on new installs. Turn it on anytime under Settings → System → Show Flow Bar at all times.
Right-click the Flow Bar to open the Flow Menu, which includes:
Hide for 1 hour

Tray menu & menu bar
The system tray icon (menu bar on Mac, system tray on Windows) gives you quick access to Open Wispr Flow, Paste last transcript, Shortcuts, Microphone, Languages, Help Center, Talk to support, and Share feedback. On Mac, there's also a full application menu bar (Wispr Flow, File, Edit, Dictation, Customization, View, Help, Window). Windows uses a taskbar jump-list instead.

Next to the mic, a writing-style pill shows your current style. Tap it to open a menu and choose from Default, Casual, Formal, Very casual, or Excited — the active style has a checkmark next to it. Tap any style to apply it immediately.

General: Languages, Flow Bubble Size, and Flow Bubble Opacity.
