Sync Flow across your devices
Last updated: June 11, 2026
Available on: Mac, Windows, iOS, Android
If your subscription shows on your Mac but not your iPhone, your dictionary entries aren't appearing on a second computer, or your snippets seem out of date — this guide covers what syncs between devices and how to get everything in place. Most issues resolve in under a minute.
Quick checks
Same account on both devices? Confirm the email matches on each device's Account screen.
Same login method? Signing in with Google creates a different account than signing in with Apple, even if the email is the same. Use the same method you used originally (Google, Apple, Microsoft, SSO, or email).
Both devices online? Sync and subscription checks are skipped when offline. If both devices are online and signed in with the same account and method, the issue is sync-specific — continue below. If not, fix the connection or login mismatch first.

How to set up a second device
Download Wispr Flow from wisprflow.ai/downloads (Mac/Windows) or your device's app store (iOS/Android).
Open the app and tap or click Sign In.
Sign in using the same login method you used on your first device (Google, Apple, Microsoft, SSO, or email). On iOS, only Google and Apple appear by default — tap More Options to reveal Microsoft, SSO, and Email.
Confirm your subscription appears on the Account screen:
iOS: open Account from the app menu or profile.
Android: open Account from the navigation drawer.
Mac/Windows: check the billing section in the Hub or look for the Pro badge.
Once you're signed in, your subscription, dictionary, and snippets appear automatically.
Note: On Mac or Windows, clicking Sign In opens your web browser to choose your sign-in method. On iOS and Android, sign-in options appear directly in the app.
Warning: Using a different email or sign-in method creates a separate account. Double-check the method before signing in to avoid creating duplicates.
How to fix sync problems
Subscription doesn't appear on a second device
Try these steps in order. Most subscription sync issues resolve at step 1 or 2.
Refresh manually on Mac or Windows. Go to Settings → Plans and Billing and click the refresh icon at the top of the page. Wait a few seconds between clicks — the button has a short cooldown. You'll see a confirmation when sync succeeds, or a clear error message if something needs your attention (such as signing in again). If you just paid, click Finished paying? Click to refresh in the billing modal.
Log out and back in. Go to Settings → Account → Log Out, then sign in again. This triggers an immediate subscription check.
Restart the app. On Mac, press Cmd + Q. On Windows, right-click Flow in the system tray and select Quit. On iOS, swipe up to close completely. Reopen and check the Account screen — your plan should now show Pro.
Note: Desktop subscription status refreshes automatically in the background as long as you're online.
Dictionary entries aren't syncing
Add a test word on one device, then check the other. Sync happens automatically when you add a word and when the app opens. On Android, opening the Dictionary screen also refreshes your entries.
Log out and back in on both devices if the entry doesn't appear within a minute. After signing back in, the test word should appear in the dictionary list on the second device.
Note: On Android, signing in as a different account wipes local dictionary entries before re-syncing, and signing out clears all local entries.
Snippets on Android aren't up to date
On Android, snippets sync automatically on login, after every snippet add/edit/delete, and when you open the Snippets screen.
Open the Snippets screen from the bottom navigation to pull the latest snippets.
Verify your latest snippet from another device is now visible. Once loaded, snippets are cached for offline use.
Style changes on Android aren't showing on other devices
On Android, style changes are saved as a draft and don't sync until you tap Save.
Open the Styles screen.
Select your style. A panel appears from the bottom of the screen.
Tap Save to confirm. Tapping Cancel discards the draft.
Once saved, your style syncs to other devices automatically.
Word count stats are different on each device
Total words and WPM sync across devices. Daily and weekly word counts may differ by device.
Wait a short while. Stats refresh from the server periodically.
Restart the app to trigger an immediate refresh. After restart, total words and WPM should match across devices.
Common issues
Flow gets stuck in a broken state after a local data error (Mac / Windows)
On Mac and Windows, if Wispr Flow's local data became corrupted — particularly on installs where the local data folder was being synced by iCloud or OneDrive — the app could get stuck in a permanent error state and fail to recover, even after restarting. This has been fixed. Flow now automatically cleans up corrupted local data and recovers on the next restart without any manual steps.
If you were affected, restart Wispr Flow and it will recover automatically. If the app still doesn't start correctly after restarting, update to the latest version and restart again.
Tip: To reduce the chance of this recurring, we recommend not placing Wispr Flow's local data folder inside an iCloud, OneDrive, or similar cloud-synced location. Those services can make local app files read-only, which interferes with how Flow saves data.
Bugs fixed in recent updates
The following sync bugs were fixed in recent versions. To resolve any of them, update Wispr Flow to the latest version:
Meetings and notes didn't sync reliably on Mac or Windows startup. When you were already signed in, meetings and notes could silently fail to sync when the app launched. They now sync correctly every time the app starts.
Editing a snippet or dictionary word on Android created duplicate entries. This happened when you changed the word or trigger itself (for example, renaming "meet up" to "meet"), including case-only changes.
Notes on iOS didn't sync when opening the Notes tab. Notes now sync in the background when you open the Notes tab, and you can refresh manually with pull-to-refresh.
Note titles didn't sync correctly on iOS. Notes now sync with full titles that appear in the notes list and navigation bar.
Quick Dictation to Notes didn't work with the Flow Keyboard. Dictation from this shortcut now routes correctly through the keyboard when the Flow Keyboard is in use.
Snippets showed up in the dictionary (or dictionary words appeared in snippets) on Android. Caused by a sync bug, now fixed.
Dictionary and Snippets tabs appeared empty on iOS. Caused by a display bug after signing in or returning from the background. Your data was still saved.
FAQs
Why doesn't my transcription history sync?
Transcripts are stored locally on each device and aren't shared between devices. On Mac, Windows, and iOS, transcript text and audio are uploaded to Wispr's servers for service improvement unless Privacy Mode is on. On Android, only metadata is uploaded — text and audio are never sent off-device. In all cases, transcript text is not downloaded to other devices.
Warning: On Android, signing out permanently deletes all transcripts stored on your device. The in-app sign-out dialog ("Sign out and delete transcripts?") explicitly warns that all local transcripts will be removed.
I have two accounts — can I merge them?
Accounts cannot be merged. Choose one account to keep and manually re-add dictionary entries from the other. Contact support if you have active subscriptions on both accounts.
My trial ended on my phone but not my computer. Why?
This means you have two separate accounts. Check the email shown on the Account screen on both devices to confirm they match.
Flow says I'm on Basic but I paid for Pro. What do I do?
If you subscribed through the App Store, check Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on iOS to confirm the purchase completed. On Mac or Windows, manually refresh from Settings → Plans and Billing. If the issue persists, log out and back in.
Can I subscribe from the Android app?
No. Subscribe via wisprflow.ai or through the iOS app, then sign in on Android to access your subscription.
Limitations and notes
Your Flow subscription works on multiple Macs, Windows PCs, iOS, and Android devices simultaneously, as long as you're signed into the same account.
Desktop subscriptions are managed through Wispr Flow's billing. App Store subscriptions on iOS are managed through Apple. Both recognize your account, but the billing source differs.
On Android, subscriptions cannot be purchased within the app.
The refresh subscription icon on Plans & Billing is rate-limited — clicking it too quickly after a successful sync shows a cooldown message. The Finished paying? Click to refresh button only appears in the billing modal after you've opened the checkout page.
On Android, snippet sync requires a recent version of the app — update if you don't see your snippets.
Image attachments in notes support PNG, JPEG, and WebP (GIF is not supported by the desktop client) up to 5 MB per image, with up to 100 images per note.
We recommend not placing Wispr Flow's local data folder inside an iCloud, OneDrive, or similar cloud-synced location. Those services can interfere with how Flow stores data locally and may cause issues.
