Known issue: password reset not working for email and password accounts

Last updated: August 5, 2026

Who this affects: only accounts created with an email address and password. If you sign in with Google, Apple, Microsoft, or your company's SSO, this does not affect you, and you manage your password with that provider rather than with Wispr Flow.

Password resets are currently unreliable for accounts that sign in with an email address and password. If a reset email does not arrive, or the reset link does not work, the steps below are the flow that is working right now.

Reset your password

Important: complete the reset in one sitting, right after you click the link in the email. If you close the tab and come back to the link later, it will no longer be valid and you will need to request a new reset email.

  1. Go to the Wispr Flow login page. You will see Get Started.

  2. Just below the Email and Password fields, click Forgot Password in the bottom-right corner.

  3. Enter your email address again on the next screen, then click Send Email.

  4. Check your inbox, and your spam folder, for the Reset your password email.

  5. Click Reset Password in that email.

  6. On the Reset Password page, enter your New Password and Confirm New Password, click Confirm, then click Reset Password.

  7. Your password is reset. Sign in with your new password.

If it still does not work

The reset link says it is invalid or expired

Reset links are single-use and short-lived. This almost always happens when the link was opened, closed, and reopened later. Request a fresh reset email and complete every step in one sitting without closing the tab.

No reset email arrives

Check your spam and junk folders first. You can request up to 3 reset emails every 30 minutes for the same address, so if you have already tried several times, wait 30 minutes before requesting another one. On a shared network or a VPN, a separate network-level limit can also be reached, so try again from a different connection if you can.

I do not remember which sign-in method I used

On the login page, try Continue with Google, Continue with Apple, or Continue with Microsoft using the same email address. If one of those signs you in, your account has no Wispr Flow password to reset. Note that the same email address used with a different sign-in method creates a separate account, so make sure you are using the method you originally signed up with.

My company uses SSO

SSO sign-in is not affected. On Mac and Windows, click Sign in via browser; on Android, choose Continue with SSO; on iOS, tap More Options first and then Continue with SSO. Password changes for SSO accounts are handled by your identity provider, not by Wispr Flow.

Still stuck?

If you have tried a fresh reset email and completed the steps in one sitting and it still fails, reach out to support with your account email address, the sign-in method you use, and a screenshot of the screen or error message you are seeing. That gives us everything we need to get you back in.
