Restore a missing mobile subscription

Last updated: September 21, 2026

Available on: iOS for App Store purchases and Android for Google Play purchases. Restore on the platform where you bought the subscription.

If Flow shows Free after payment, or paid features are unavailable, check the store purchase and the account you're signed in with. Your Apple ID or Google account identifies the payment; your Flow account receives access.

Check the account and purchase first

  1. Open your store's subscription list to confirm the purchasing account and Wispr Flow's status: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, the Google Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions.

  2. Check the email shown on Flow's Account screen.

  3. Open Account → Manage plan to check your current plan.

Use the same Flow account and the original sign-in method used at purchase — the same email through another method can be a different account. Account doesn't show your sign-in method; the sign-in screen shows “You last logged in with …”. Apple and Google sign-in appear first; Microsoft, SSO and email are under More options.

Free marked Current Plan below the paid and trial cards does not by itself mean access was lost. On Android, Free means Flow found no active subscription for your account.

“Go to the desktop app to manage plan” identifies a desktop or web subscription and does nothing when tapped. Open desktop Flow instead; store restore cannot recover that subscription.

Stay signed in and online — Flow must confirm an active subscription, not just find a store purchase. Install any available Flow update from your store, then retry.

Restore your purchase

For free or trial accounts, Restore Purchases is on the purchase screen (paywall), not in Plans or Settings.

  1. Open Account → Manage plan → Explore plan. On iPhone you can also select Get unlimited words in Flow's menu.

  2. Select Restore Purchases at the bottom of the paywall.

  3. Wait for the restore to finish.

  4. Check paid access. If it's still unavailable, follow the matching result below or contact support.

If Couldn’t load plans appears, tap Retry — Restore is unreachable until plans load. Some purchase screens block entry when Flow already recognizes an active subscription; in that case use account recovery below. Returning to Flow, signing in or reconnecting refreshes subscription status, and changes may not appear immediately.

Note: Student plans are not sold on Android, but a student subscription bought elsewhere is recognized once your Flow account confirms it and shows as Student.

Follow the restore result

Some purchase screens report only Restore Failed for errors; others show one of the five results below. Restoring offline, before sign-in finishes, or while another restore is running can produce No Active Subscription Found or Purchase Found, Sync Needed.

Entitlement Found

The purchase was restored; the alert names the plan, or Flow Pro Trial while you're trialing. Tap OK to close the purchase screen.

No Active Subscription Found

A different store account or an expired subscription causes this.

  1. Check the purchasing Apple ID or Google account and its active subscription in your store's settings.

  2. Retry the restore with the correct store account.

Contact support if the store shows the subscription as active.

Purchase Found, Sync Needed

The store found a purchase, but Flow could not confirm your subscription.

  1. Check your connection.

  2. Wait a few minutes while signed in and online — Flow keeps retrying and usually finishes within about 8 minutes.

  3. Restore again if paid access is still unavailable.

If it persists, sign out and back in with the original account (read the warning below first), then contact support.

Subscription Linked to Another Account

This store subscription belongs to a different Flow account.

  1. Close the purchase screen.

  2. Follow account recovery below to sign in with the purchasing Flow account.

  3. Restore again.

If you don't know that account, use the receipt lookup at the end of this article.

Restore Failed

Flow could not restore the purchase.

  1. Confirm your connection.

  2. Retry the restore.

Contact support if it fails again.

Recover the purchasing Flow account

Use this if your account is already paid but access is missing, or to try signing in as the purchasing account.

Warning: Do not buy a second subscription to fix missing access — confirm the original purchase and account, or contact support. Use Sign out, never Delete account, when testing another login: sign-out affects this device, while account deletion is permanent and signs you out everywhere.

Save anything you need first. On iPhone, signing out removes local transcripts, audio, dictionaries, notes and settings and clears this device's account data; on Android it removes local transcripts. Even without signing out, iOS removes earlier days' transcripts and audio.

  1. Open Flow's Account screen.

  2. Select Sign out.

  3. Confirm “Sign out and delete transcripts?” — it warns “Signing out will remove all transcripts stored on this device.”

  4. Sign back in with the purchasing Flow account and its original sign-in method.

This re-establishes the account link used to recognize the purchase. Check paid access after signing in.

Cancellation vs. missing access

Canceling stops renewal; access continues until the end of the paid period. Canceled or Resubscribe can stay visible, and the plan page shows the end date as “Plan ends in N days” or “Plan ends soon” in the final day.

For store-billed subscriptions, Cancel and Resubscribe open your store's subscription screen, and the plan page names the store you bought from (Google Play or App Store) — even when the device you're using has no active store purchase, such as buying on iPhone and checking on Android or desktop. Use that named store to manage or resume the subscription. Manage web and team purchases with their original provider; see billing and cancellation.

Active trials and team plans with product access also provide paid features; management-only IT Admin roles do not.

Still need help?

Contact support if:

  • The restore succeeds but paid features remain unavailable.

  • The restore keeps failing, or you cannot find the purchasing account.

Email support@wispr.ai or use the contact-support link in Plans; the address shown in restore alerts isn't tappable, so compose the email yourself. Include your device and platform, the exact alert, your account details, the store, the receipt, and the steps you tried.

Find the account using your store receipt

For App Store purchases, sign in to reportaproblem.apple.com with the purchasing Apple ID and open the Flow purchase. For Google Play purchases, open the Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history. You can also search your email for the store's receipt. Send support:

  • The Order ID, any other transaction identifiers shown, and a receipt screenshot if available.

  • The store account email, purchase date, amount, currency and subscription name.

  • The email displayed in Flow, plus any other emails or sign-in methods you may have used.

If you used Sign in with Apple with Hide My Email, your Flow account may use an @privaterelay.appleid.com address — check your Apple relay address and include it. The original Flow account is the recovery route, and support can help identify it; purchases and accounts cannot be assumed transferable.
