Redirect loops when attempting to download the app from the Wispr Flow website

Last updated: June 5, 2026

Available on: Mac, Windows, iOS, Android

If clicking Download on the Wispr Flow website keeps refreshing the page or sending you in circles, this guide gets Flow installed using direct links or the app stores. Most cases resolve in under 2 minutes.

Quick checks

  • Try a different browser: Some browser extensions or privacy settings cause redirect loops. Try Chrome, Safari, or Edge with extensions disabled.

  • Clear your browser cache: Cached redirects can persist even after the underlying issue is fixed.

  • On mobile? The redirect loop only affects desktop downloads. Install from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) instead — skip to the iOS or Android section below.

How to install or update Flow

Mac

If the download page keeps reloading, use a direct installer link. If Flow is already installed, update from inside the app.

Install Flow with a direct download link

  1. Close any browser tabs where the Wispr Flow download page is stuck in a loop.

  2. Check which type of Mac you have:

    1. Open the Apple menu and click About This Mac.

    2. Look at the Chip or Processor line. If it says Apple M1, M2, M3, or later, use the Apple Silicon link. If it says Intel, use the Intel link.

  3. Download the installer using the direct link for your Mac:

  4. Open the installer from your Downloads folder when the download finishes.

  5. Drag Wispr Flow to Applications if prompted, then open it from the Applications folder.

  6. Sign in and follow the on-screen prompts. If Flow opens and you can sign in, you're done.

Update Flow from the app

  1. Make sure Wispr Flow is running.

  2. Click the Wispr Flow icon in the menu bar at the top of your screen.

  3. Click Check for updates and let any available update download.

  4. Restart Flow when prompted. Click Update ready, restart now? in the menu bar to restart immediately. Otherwise, Flow auto-restarts after about 20 minutes without dictation.

Tip: You can also find Check for updates in the Wispr Flow application menu, next to the Apple menu.

Note: Restarts are deferred while you're actively dictating, in a meeting, offline, or have your screen locked. If the menu shows Error updating, please restart, quit and reopen Flow to retry.

Windows

If the download page keeps reloading, use the direct installer link. If Flow is already installed, update from inside the app.

Install Flow with a direct download link

  1. Close any browser tabs where the Wispr Flow download page is stuck in a loop.

  2. Go to the direct Windows installer link: https://dl.wisprflow.ai/windows/latest

  3. Open the installer from your Downloads folder when the download finishes.

  4. Click Yes if Windows asks for permission to allow the installer to run.

  5. Follow the on-screen steps to complete installation.

  6. Open Wispr Flow from the Start menu and sign in. If Flow opens and you can sign in, you're done.

Update Flow from the app

  1. Make sure Wispr Flow is running.

  2. Right-click the Wispr Flow icon in the system tray (notification area near the clock).

  3. Click Check for updates and let any available update download.

  4. Restart Flow when prompted. Click Update ready, restart now? in the system tray to restart immediately. Otherwise, Flow auto-restarts after about 20 minutes without dictation.

Note: On Windows, Check for updates is only available from the system tray — there is no application menu like on Mac. Restarts are deferred while you're actively dictating, in a meeting, offline, or have your screen locked.

iOS

The redirect loop only affects desktop downloads. On iOS, install and update through the App Store.

  1. Open the App Store.

  2. Tap Search and enter Wispr Flow.

  3. Tap Get or the download icon next to Wispr Flow.

  4. To update, go to App Store → your profile icon → Updates, and update Wispr Flow if it appears in the list.

Note: To check your installed version, open Wispr Flow and go to Settings. The footer at the bottom shows your plan, version, and build number.

Android

On Android, install and update Wispr Flow through the Google Play Store.

  1. Open the Google Play Store.

  2. Search for Wispr Flow.

  3. Tap Install next to Wispr Flow.

  4. To update, go to Play Store → your profile icon → Manage apps & device, and update Wispr Flow if an update is available.

Common issues

A downloaded Windows update disappeared from the menu and showed "Up to date" instead

A bug on Windows could cause a downloaded update to stop appearing in the menu — opening Settings or triggering another update check would incorrectly reset the status to "Up to date," hiding the pending update. This has been fixed. Update Wispr Flow to the latest version. After updating, the menu correctly shows Update ready, restart now? when an update is ready to install.

Tapping a deep link on Android caused the app to crash

A bug could cause the app to crash when opening certain links on Android — for example, links in Wispr Flow emails meant to open a specific screen. This has been fixed. Update Wispr Flow to the latest version from the Google Play Store.

FAQs

I'm not sure which Mac installer to use

Go to Apple menu → About This Mac. Use the Apple Silicon link if it shows an Apple chip (M1, M2, M3, or later), or the Intel link if it shows Intel.

I downloaded the Mac installer but the app shows an error and quits

You likely downloaded the wrong installer for your Mac. Check Apple menu → About This Mac for your chip type, then download the matching version — Apple Silicon for M-series chips, Intel for Intel processors.

The Windows installer downloaded, but it won't open

Make sure you clicked Yes when Windows asked for permission. If an antivirus program is blocking the file, temporarily pause it and try again.

Flow is installed, but I'm not seeing the latest version

Use the in-app Check for updates option from the menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows), then restart the app after updating.

I tapped a link from a Wispr Flow email on Android, but it didn't open the app

Custom app links require the app to be installed first. Install Wispr Flow from the Google Play Store, then tap the link again. If you're not signed in yet, the app takes you through sign-in first.

An email link opened the app, but not to the page I expected

If a marketing email link doesn't point to a recognized page, Wispr Flow opens to the default dashboard instead. Confirm you're using the correct link from the email for the feature you want.

Still stuck?

Reach out to our support team if:

  • The direct download links don't work or show an error in your browser.

  • The installer runs but fails with an error message or never finishes.

  • You're on a managed device and a firewall or security setting is blocking the download.

  • You tapped a Wispr Flow email link on Android and still aren't reaching the right screen after installing the app.

If Flow is already installed, click Help → Talk to support in the app, select a Request Type, and include your platform (Mac, Windows, iOS, or Android), what you tried, and any error messages. Most download issues are resolved in one reply.
