Redirect loops when attempting to download the app from the Wispr Flow website

If clicking Download on the Wispr Flow website keeps refreshing the page or sending you in circles, this guide installs Flow using direct links or the app stores. Most cases resolve in under 2 minutes.
Quick checks
Try a different browser: Extensions and privacy settings can cause redirect loops — try Chrome, Safari, or Edge with extensions disabled.
Clear your browser cache: Cached redirects persist after the underlying issue is fixed.
On mobile? The loop only affects desktop downloads. Install from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) instead.
How to install or update Flow
Mac
Install with a direct download link:
Close any browser tabs stuck in the loop.
Check your Mac type: open the Apple menu → About This Mac and read the Chip or Processor line. Apple M1, M2, M3, or later means Apple Silicon; Intel means Intel.
Download the matching installer:
Apple Silicon: https://dl.wisprflow.ai/mac-apple/latest
Open the installer from your Downloads folder.
Drag Wispr Flow to Applications if prompted, then open it from Applications.
Sign in. If Flow opens and you can sign in, you're done.
Note: Mac installers are code-signed and notarized by Apple, so a valid download opens without Gatekeeper warnings. If macOS blocks the app as damaged or unidentified, re-download using the direct link.
Update from the app:
Click the Wispr Flow icon in the menu bar while Flow is running.
Click Check for updates and let any available update download.
Restart Flow: click Update ready, restart now? in the menu bar, or wait for Flow to auto-restart after a period of inactivity.
Tip: Check for updates is also in the Wispr Flow application menu, next to the Apple menu.
Note: Flow checks for updates automatically while running, online, and awake; restarts are deferred while you're dictating, in a meeting, offline, or with your screen locked. Restarting during a dictation or meeting recording prompts Restart to update? with a warning that unsaved audio may be lost — choose Restart anyway or Cancel. If the menu shows Error updating, please restart, quit and reopen Flow to retry.
Windows
Install with a direct download link:
Close any browser tabs stuck in the loop.
Open the installer from your Downloads folder.
Follow the on-screen steps. If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning, click More info → Run anyway.
Open Wispr Flow from the Start menu and sign in. If Flow opens and you can sign in, you're done.
Note: The Windows link may serve either a small downloader or the full installer, and may not be the very latest version — Flow updates itself automatically after installation.
Update from the app:
Right-click the Wispr Flow icon in the system tray (notification area near the clock) while Flow is running.
Click Check for updates and let any available update download.
Restart Flow: click Update ready, restart now? in the system tray, or wait for Flow to auto-restart after a period of inactivity.
Note: On Windows, Check for updates is only available from the system tray. Flow checks for updates automatically while running, online, and awake; restarts are deferred while you're dictating, in a meeting, offline, or with your screen locked. iOS
Install and update through the App Store.
Open the App Store, tap Search, and enter Wispr Flow.
Tap Get or the download icon next to Wispr Flow.
To update, go to App Store → your profile icon → Updates and update Wispr Flow if it appears.
Note: To check your installed version, open Wispr Flow and go to Settings. The footer shows your plan, version, and build number.
Android
Install and update through the Google Play Store.
Open the Google Play Store and search for Wispr Flow.
Tap Install next to Wispr Flow.
To update, go to Play Store → your profile icon → Manage apps & device and update Wispr Flow if an update is available.
Note: If your installed version is too old, Wispr Flow shows an Update Required screen on launch that can't be dismissed — tap Update Now to open the Play Store listing and install the latest version. Your current version number appears on that screen.
Note: On managed or enterprise devices, IT admins typically deploy Wispr Flow for you, and the update menu may show "Next update check: <date>" grayed out until the next scheduled check; an already-downloaded update can still be applied immediately. If the download is blocked, contact your IT administrator.
FAQs
I downloaded the Mac installer but the app won't launch or quits unexpectedly
You likely used the installer for the wrong Mac architecture. Check Apple menu → About This Mac and download the matching build — Apple Silicon for M-series chips, Intel for Intel processors.
The Windows installer downloaded, but it won't open
If Windows SmartScreen blocks the installer, click More info → Run anyway. If an antivirus program is blocking the file, temporarily pause it and try again.
Flow is installed, but I'm not seeing the latest version
Use Check for updates from the menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows), then restart the app. If no pending update appears, quit and reopen Flow.
Updates keep failing to install
After repeated failures, Flow temporarily pauses automatic update attempts; Check for updates bypasses the pause. Quit and reopen Flow, then retry. The message Error updating, please restart covers all failure causes, including network and permissions.
On macOS, cancelling the system password prompt during install leaves the update pending with no error shown.
I tapped a link from a Wispr Flow email on Android, but it didn't open the app
App links require the app to be installed first. Install Wispr Flow from the Google Play Store, then tap the link again. If you're not signed in, the app takes you through sign-in first.
An email link opened the app, but not to the page I expected
Higher-priority app states override the link: signed out sends you to sign-in, and an out-of-date version shows the Update Required screen. The original destination is not resumed, so tap the link again after updating or signing in.
Wispr Flow email links on Android reach the home screen (Dashboard), Dictionary, Style, Snippets, Settings, Languages, and Account; any other destination opens the home screen.
