Redirect loops when attempting to download the app from the Wispr Flow website
Last updated: April 13, 2026
Available on: Mac, Windows, iOS, Android
If clicking Download on the Wispr Flow website keeps refreshing the page or sending you in circles, this guide helps you get Flow installed using direct download links. Most cases resolve in under 2 minutes.
Quick checks
Try a different browser: Some browser extensions or privacy settings can cause redirect loops. Try Chrome, Safari, or Edge without extensions.
Clear your browser cache: Cached redirects can persist even after the issue is fixed on the website.
On mobile? The redirect loop only affects desktop downloads. On iOS, install from the App Store. On Android, install from the Google Play Store.
How to install or update Flow
Mac
If the download page keeps reloading or redirecting, use a direct installer link or update from the app.
Install Flow with a direct download link
Close any browser tabs where the Wispr Flow download page is stuck in a loop.
Check which type of Mac you have:
Go to Apple menu → About This Mac.
Look for Chip or Processor.
If it says Apple M1, M2, M3, or later, use the Apple Silicon link. If it says Intel, use the Intel link.
Download the installer using the direct link for your Mac:
Apple Silicon: https://dl.wisprflow.ai/mac-apple/latest
Open the installer file when the download finishes (usually in your Downloads folder).
Drag Wispr Flow to Applications if prompted, then open it from the Applications folder.
Follow any on-screen prompts to sign in and complete setup.
If Flow opens and you can sign in, you're done.
Update Flow from the app
Make sure Wispr Flow is running.
Click the Wispr Flow icon in the menu bar at the top of your screen.
Click Check for updates.
Let the update download if one is available.
Restart when prompted — the app restarts automatically after about 20 minutes without dictation, or you can click Update ready, restart now? in the menu bar (or Click to update and restart Flow in Settings) to restart immediately.
Note: If the menu shows Error updating, please restart, this message is not clickable in the menu bar. However, if you see this message in Settings, you can click it to retry the update check. You can also manually quit and reopen Wispr Flow to retry.
Tip: You can also find Check for updates in the Wispr Flow application menu at the top of your screen (next to the Apple menu).
Windows
If the download page keeps reloading or redirecting, use the direct installer link or update from the app.
Install Flow with a direct download link
Close any browser tabs where the Wispr Flow download page is stuck in a loop.
Go to the direct Windows installer link: https://dl.wisprflow.ai/windows/latest
Open the installer file when the download finishes (usually in your Downloads folder).
Click Yes if Windows asks for permission to allow the installer to run.
Follow the on-screen steps to complete installation.
Open Wispr Flow from the Start menu and sign in.
If Flow opens and you can sign in, you're done.
Update Flow from the app
Make sure Wispr Flow is running.
Right-click the Wispr Flow icon in the system tray (notification area near the clock).
Click Check for updates.
Let the update download if one is available.
Restart when prompted — the app restarts automatically after about 20 minutes without dictation, or you can click Update ready, restart now? in the system tray (or Click to update and restart Flow in Settings) to restart immediately.
Note: If the menu shows Error updating, please restart, this message is not clickable in the system tray. However, if you see this message in Settings, you can click it to retry the update check. You can also manually quit and reopen Wispr Flow to retry.
Note: On Windows, the system tray is the only place to access Check for updates — there is no application menu like on Mac.
iOS
The redirect loop only affects desktop downloads from the Wispr Flow website. On iOS, install and update through the App Store.
Install or update Flow
Open the App Store.
Tap Search and enter Wispr Flow.
Tap Get or the download icon next to Wispr Flow.
To update, go to App Store → your profile icon → Updates, and update Wispr Flow if it appears in the list.
Note: To check your installed version, open Wispr Flow and go to Settings — your plan name, version number, and build number are shown at the bottom of the screen.
Android
On Android, install Wispr Flow through the Google Play Store. Some links in Wispr Flow marketing emails are designed to open the app directly. If the app isn't installed, these links may not work — install Wispr Flow from the Google Play Store first.
Install or update Flow
Open the Google Play Store.
Search for Wispr Flow.
Tap Install next to Wispr Flow.
To update, go to Play Store → your profile icon → Manage apps & device, and update Wispr Flow if an update is available.
Note: If you tapped a link from a Wispr Flow email and the app isn't installed, the link may not open. Install Wispr Flow from the Google Play Store first, then tap the link again to go directly to the feature.
Common issues
A downloaded Windows update disappeared from the menu and showed "Up to date" instead
A bug on Windows could cause a downloaded update to stop appearing in the menu — opening Settings or triggering another update check would incorrectly reset the status to "Up to date," hiding the pending update. This has been fixed. Update Wispr Flow to the latest version to resolve this. After updating, the menu correctly shows Update ready, restart now? when an update is ready to install (or Click to update and restart Flow in Settings).
Tapping a deep link on Android caused the app to crash
A bug could cause the app to crash when opening certain links on Android — for example, links in Wispr Flow emails meant to open a specific screen in the app. This has been fixed. Update Wispr Flow to the latest version from the Google Play Store to resolve this.
FAQs
I'm not sure which Mac installer to use
Go to Apple menu → About This Mac. Use the Apple Silicon link if it shows an Apple chip (M1, M2, M3, or later), or the Intel link if it shows Intel.
I downloaded the Mac installer but the app immediately shows an error and quits
You likely downloaded the wrong installer for your Mac. Check Apple menu → About This Mac for your chip type, then download the correct version — Apple Silicon for M-series chips, Intel for Intel processors.
The installer downloaded, but it won't open
On Windows, make sure you clicked Yes when Windows asked for permission. If an antivirus program is blocking the file, temporarily pause it and try again.
Flow is installed, but I'm not seeing the latest version
Use the in-app Check for updates option from the menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows), then restart the app after updating.
I tapped a link from a Wispr Flow email on Android, but it didn't open the app
If Wispr Flow isn't installed, the link won't open anything — custom app links require the app to be installed first. Install Wispr Flow from the Google Play Store, then tap the link again to open it directly to the feature. If you're not yet signed in, the app takes you through sign-in first.
I tapped a link from a Wispr Flow email and it opened the app, but not to the page I expected
If a marketing email link doesn't point to a recognized page in the app, Wispr Flow opens to the default dashboard instead. This is expected — the app always opens to a valid screen when using a marketing link. Make sure you're using the correct link from the email for the specific feature you want.
Still stuck?
Reach out to our support team if:
The direct download links don't work or show an error in your browser
The installer runs but fails with an error message or never finishes
You're on a managed device and think a firewall or security setting is blocking the download
You tapped a link from a Wispr Flow email on Android and are still not reaching the right screen after installing the app
In the Flow desktop app, click Help, then select Talk to support. When reporting an issue, select a Request Type (Issue, Billing, or Account Management) — this is required before you can send your report. Include your platform (Mac/Windows/iOS/Android), what you tried, and any error messages you saw. You can attach one image file: desktop supports up to 10MB, Android supports PNG/JPEG/BMP/WebP up to 10MB on both Report and Feedback tabs, and iOS does not support attachments.
