Connectors in Wispr Flow: connect, disconnect, and organization-blocked connectors

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Available on: Mac, Windows

Connect your calendar for meeting reminders, Gmail for email context, and Slack for context in summaries and briefs. Manage these app connections in Settings → Connectors.

Connect an app

Available apps vary by account: Outlook Calendar must be offered to your account and allowed by your organization, and the Connectors tab is hidden when Connectors or Notetaker is unavailable to your account, or when no connectors can be shown.

Note: Only one calendar connection or disconnection can run at a time; the other calendar row's action is temporarily disabled.

  1. Open Wispr Flow settings and select Connectors.

  2. Select Connect beside the app to open your browser.

  3. Sign in to the account you want to connect.

  4. Allow all requested permissions.

The browser shows "You're all set" and Flow reopens; you can also select Open Wispr Flow. In Flow, a green check confirms the connection, and calendar rows show the account email, or Connected if no email is available.

Note: If you start from a Connect banner in a meeting summary, Flow returns you to that summary once you finish signing in.

Gmail and Google Calendar

Gmail brings email context into Ask Anything and summaries, lets Flow send email on your behalf, and lets Flow learn how you write from your sent emails for email preferences.

Google Calendar handles calendar reading and "Add to calendar" actions. If you're asked to add an event and your calendar connection is read-only, select Reconnect Google Calendar and allow event permissions — calendar sync keeps working in the meantime.

Connect Google Calendar from the calendar notice dialog

When you turn on calendar notices — in Settings → Notetaker, or for a single meeting on the Notetaker page — and Flow can't add notices to your calendar yet, the dialog offers Connect or Reconnect.

  1. Select Connect or Reconnect in the dialog.

  2. Sign in to your Google account in the browser tab that opens.

  3. Click Select all so Flow can add events to your calendar.

The notice setting saves only once the connection includes permission to add calendar events. If Calendar events is left unticked, the dialog stays open with "Wispr still can't add notices. Reconnect and click 'Select all'." If you close the Google tab without finishing, "Couldn't connect" appears within about five seconds and the button becomes available again. Choosing Disable or pressing Escape leaves calendar notices off.

Note: Outlook-only accounts are sent to Settings → Connectors to connect.

Disconnect an app

Disconnecting stops Flow from using the app; you can reconnect anytime. For Google Calendar, it stops reminders, meeting context, and briefs. Calendar events linked to existing Flow notes or meetings are always retained, including after disconnecting.

Warning: Non-calendar disconnect dialogs warn that this may delete briefs that use that connector — for example, "This may delete briefs that use Slack." Calendar dialogs have no warning banner.

  1. Open the connected row's Connector actions (…) menu.

  2. Choose Disconnect.

  3. Confirm Disconnect in "Disconnect {connector}?", or choose Cancel to keep the connection.

For an unblocked connection, this menu also offers Reconnect to sign in again.

If a connection doesn't finish

Error pages and "One more step" never return you to Flow automatically — select Open Wispr Flow, then use the message below.

Message

Meaning or next action

Connection blocked / Admin approval required

Organization-policy blocks and Microsoft calendar admin approval show "Ask your admin," with no Reconnect button.

Connection cancelled

Permissions weren't granted; repeat the connection steps and allow all requested permissions.

One more step

Calendar access wasn't granted; use Finish calendar setup below.

Different account

Disconnect the current account first; see Connecting a different account below.

No calendar available

This Microsoft account has no readable calendar; Flow shows "This account can't be connected" with no connect action.

Something went wrong

Flow couldn't connect the app; contact Flow support.

Finish calendar setup

When calendar access is missing and the calendar isn't connected, "Finish connecting Google Calendar" or "Finish connecting Outlook Calendar" can appear in the main Flow window or notepad.

  1. Select Continue in the prompt, or Finish connecting on the connector row.

  2. Allow access: Google Calendar — click "Select all"; Outlook Calendar — allow calendar access on Microsoft's permission screen.

The success page confirms setup is complete. If "Couldn't open the browser. Please try again." appears, the prompt stays open; select Continue again.

In the main Flow window, close the prompt with X (Dismiss), not Escape or an outside click. It stays dismissed until another connection attempt; the row keeps its hint and Finish connecting button.

When a calendar needs a new sign-in

Flow asks for a new sign-in when a connection expires, is revoked at the provider, or the provider requires signing in again. Flow stops reading from that calendar provider and removes that provider's events from your device until you reconnect, except events linked to existing Flow notes or meetings. Other calendar connections keep working.

  1. Select Reconnect on the calendar row.

  2. Sign in again.

The warning clears and your stored events and participants come back — a sign-in problem never deletes them.

Connecting a different account

The calendar row can show "Disconnect {account} first" or "Disconnect your current {provider} account first."

  1. Select that account-disconnect button.

  2. Confirm Disconnect in the dialog.

  3. Repeat the connection steps using the other account.

Check the connected calendar row for the new account's email.

Try again or a timed-out attempt

Returning to Flow before finishing browser approval can show "{connector} connection failed" and Try again after about five seconds. A late completion can still succeed within two minutes of starting; otherwise Flow shows "{connector} connection timed out."

Other connection failures also show Try again. Select it to restart sign-in; "{connector} connected" confirms success.

Couldn't load connectors. Check your connection.

  1. Confirm your device is online.

  2. Reopen Settings → Connectors.

If the rows load, continue connecting; otherwise contact IT or Flow support.

Connectors blocked by your organization

Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar and Slack are allowed by default. Admins can block each independently, so blocking one calendar provider doesn't affect the other.

  • Not connected: Blocked connectors are hidden throughout the app, including Settings — not shown as disabled Connect buttons.

  • Already connected: Blocking doesn't revoke access. The row remains only in Settings → Connectors, with "Connected, but unavailable because your organization turned off this connector." Only Disconnect remains in Connector actions; follow the disconnect steps above to revoke access.

Re-enabling a connector restores an existing connection without a new sign-in. Organization changes can take up to about 45 minutes to appear. On an active business or enterprise subscription, opening or refocusing Settings → Connectors refreshes organization settings without restarting; refocusing the main Flow or meeting recorder window also refreshes the list, but allow up to a minute.

Still need help?

Contact your admin for organization restrictions. If loading still fails after retrying online, or browser connection failures continue, email support@wisprflow.ai — also linked on every error and "One more step" page. Include your platform, connector, exact message, and what you tried.
