Flow Discounts
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Available on: Mac, Windows, iOS, Android (verification submission is limited on mobile — see FAQs)
Students, educators, non-profit members, military members, seniors, and users with accessibility needs may qualify for a discount on Wispr Flow. This guide covers who qualifies, how to apply, and how promotional offers work.
Who qualifies
Discounts are available for the following categories:
Student: Free unlimited words on an annual plan — no credit card required.
Education (non-student): For teachers and educational staff.
Non-profit: For registered non-profit organizations.
Accessibility support: For users with accessibility needs.
Military: For active duty and veterans.
Senior citizen: Age-based discount.
Note: For more details about student and education discounts, see the Education Discounts article.
How to apply
Apply for a discount through the web support page or the desktop app. Only one file can be attached per submission, so combine multiple documents into a single PDF or image first.
Note: If you're a student, look for the "Students get free unlimited words" card in the desktop sidebar and click Claim free plan — no credit card required.
Web support page (use for PDFs or non-image files)
Use this channel if your verification document is a PDF or another non-image file.
Go to wisprflow.ai/support and click Get Support.
Set Request Type to Billing. The Discount Request category and attachment field appear once Billing is selected.
Fill out all required fields.
Select your Discount Request category from the dropdown.
Attach your verification (student ID, non-profit details, accessibility documentation, military ID, or age confirmation).
Submit your request. You'll receive an email confirmation once it's received.

Desktop app — Mac and Windows (use for image verification)
Use this channel if your verification is a single image file.
Click the Help button in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar, then click Talk to support under Get in touch.
Confirm the Report an issue tab is selected (it's the default).
Set Request Type to Billing.
Select your Discount Request category from the dropdown.
Attach your verification image. Any Discount Request category other than "No discount" requires an attachment.
Submit your request using the Send button or Cmd+Enter (Mac) / Ctrl+Enter (Windows). You'll receive an email confirmation once it's received.
Tip: If submission fails, your message text is automatically copied to your clipboard so you can retry without losing what you wrote.

iOS — claiming your free student plan
On iOS, eligible students on the Basic (free) plan are automatically routed to claim their free student plan after sign-in. Claiming itself must be completed on desktop or web.
Open Wispr Flow on your iPhone and tap the hamburger icon to open the menu.
Tap Claim Student Plan. Alternatively, open the Plans screen and tap the green Student promo card to reach the "Claim your free student plan" screen.
Tap Claim on desktop to send an invite link to your email. The screen closes automatically once the email is sent.
Open the link on your Mac, Windows PC, or in the Wispr Flow web app to complete the claim.
Note: Tapping Explore plan on a Pro plan card always opens the paid upgrade flow — not the student claim. To claim the free student plan on iOS, use the Claim Student Plan button in the menu or the Student promo card on the Plans screen. File attachments for verification are not supported on iOS — use the web support page or desktop app.
Once your free student plan is active, the current subscription card on the iOS Plans screen will show Free with no subtitle. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store instead, your card will show your actual App Store price.
After you submit, the support team reviews your verification and notifies you of the outcome by email — typically within a few business days.
Promotional offers
Wispr Flow occasionally partners with third parties — like media outlets or affiliates — to offer promotional deals, such as an extended free trial unlocked through a special link or code.
What to expect
If you signed up through a promotional offer:
Onboarding: You'll see a "Promotional Offer" badge alongside the heading "You've unlocked Flow Pro!". Your extended trial begins when you upgrade.
Plans and Billing page: The Pro plan column shows a compact attribution badge with a gift icon (for example, "Gift from TechCrunch"). Before you upgrade, the trial card shows "🎁 [attribution] — applied when you upgrade." After you subscribe, it shows just "🎁 [attribution]".
Promotional wording: Each campaign has its own personalized message. If no custom message is configured, onboarding shows "You have a promotional offer," and the trial card shows no promo message.
Entering a promo code
Open Wispr Flow and go to Settings → Plans and Billing.
Click Add promo code to expand the input field.
Type your code exactly as given and click Apply (or press Enter). A checkmark appears once the code is accepted.
Clear a code by clicking X if you want to try a different one.
Once applied, your extra trial days are reflected at checkout. If the code can't be applied, the field shows one of these messages:
Code not valid: The code couldn't be applied. This can happen if the code was mistyped, is expired, hasn't started yet, or has reached its redemption limit. Double-check it and contact support if the issue persists.
You already have a promo applied: Your account already has an active promo code. Contact support if you need to change it.
Note: The promo code field appears only when you don't have a paid subscription (for example, on the Basic plan or during an unconverted trial). App Store subscribers manage their subscription via Apple and will see a "Manage via Apple" message in Plans and Billing.
FAQs
What verification do I need?
Depending on your category: a student ID, non-profit registration details, documentation of accessibility needs, military ID, or age confirmation.
How long does approval take?
The support team typically reviews discount requests within a few business days. You'll receive the outcome by email.
Is the student plan really free? Are there any hidden costs?
Yes — the student plan is $0/year with no credit card required at checkout. It is annual-only; there is no monthly student option. The free plan is available regardless of your currency or country.
I'm a student — will I be charged the discounted price shown on the Pro plan card?
Yes. If you see a discounted student price on the Pro plan card (for example, €6/mo), that is exactly what you'll be charged at checkout. If you're eligible for the dedicated free Student plan instead, Pro still charges the full Pro price — use the Claim free plan option in the sidebar to get the $0/year student plan.
I'm on Pro — can I switch to the free student plan?
Yes. If you have a .edu email address on your account, you can switch from a Pro subscription to the free student plan. Switching back from the student plan to Pro is not currently supported — contact support if you need help.
Why does my iOS Plans screen show "Free" with no price for my student plan?
This is correct and expected. Free student plans show Free with no subtitle. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, your card will instead show your actual App Store price, since that is a charged subscription.
Can I apply for a discount on iOS or Android?
Verification submission is limited on mobile. To attach verification, use the web support page or the desktop app.
iOS: Eligible students on the Basic (free) plan can tap Claim Student Plan in the menu, or tap the Student promo card on the Plans screen and then Claim on desktop to email themselves a link. Completing the claim must be done on desktop or web. For other discount categories, file attachments are not supported in-app.
Android: The in-app support form has no discount-specific category and no promo code field, so discount verification must be submitted through the web support page or desktop app. Subscriptions also can't be purchased in-app on Android.
Can I apply multiple promotional codes?
No — only one promotional code can be active at a time. Contact support if you need to change your code.
I got a notification saying a teammate signed up — what does that mean?
When someone with the same email domain joins Wispr Flow, you'll get an in-app notification on desktop with a Create a team button. It appears shortly after your next dictation. The exact wording and any trial offer depend on your plan (Basic, Pro with trial available, or paying Pro).
I see "Purchase Found, Sync Needed" on iOS — what do I do?
Check your internet connection and try restoring the purchase again. If it still fails, contact support. Other iOS restore messages you may see:
No Active Subscription Found: No active subscription is linked to your Apple ID.
Subscription Linked to Another Account: The Apple ID subscription is already linked to a different Wispr Flow account. Sign in with the account that originally purchased the subscription, or contact support.
Entitlement Found: Success — tap OK and the paywall closes. The message shows which subscription tier was restored.
Restore Failed: Generic restore failure — contact support.
Still need help?
Reach out to support if:
Your discount request was denied and you'd like to appeal or clarify your eligibility.
A valid promo code won't apply, or you need to swap an active code for a different one.
You can't attach your verification document through any of the channels above.
Include your account email, platform (Mac, Windows, iOS, or Android), the discount category you're applying for, and a screenshot of any error you're seeing. Most discount questions are resolved in one reply.
