If you're a student, educator, non-profit member, military member, senior, or someone with accessibility needs, you may qualify for a discount on Wispr Flow. This guide walks you through who qualifies, how to apply, and how promotional offers work.

Who qualifies

Discounts are available on monthly or annual subscriptions for the following categories:

  • Student: Discounted Pro pricing (approximately 50% off in the US), plus an extended free trial when signing up through eligible promotional links.

  • Education (non-student): For teachers and educational staff.

  • Non-profit: For registered non-profit organizations.

  • Accessibility support: For users with accessibility needs.

  • Military: For active duty and veterans.

  • Senior citizen: Age-based discount.

Note: For more details about student and education discounts, see the Education Discounts article.

How to apply

Apply for a discount through the support web page or the desktop app.

Important: Discounts cannot be applied to subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store. If you subscribed via the App Store, cancel that subscription first and resubscribe through the desktop app or website.

Promotional offers

Wispr Flow occasionally partners with third parties β€” like media outlets or affiliates β€” to offer promotional deals, such as an extended free trial unlocked through a special link or code.

If you signed up through a promotional offer, here's what to expect:

  • Onboarding: You'll see a promotional offer badge and personalized messaging (for example, "You've unlocked Flow Pro!"). Your extended trial begins when you upgrade.

  • Plans and Billing page: The Pro plan column on the upgrade screen shows a compact attribution badge with a gift icon (for example, "Gift from TechCrunch"). The trial card shows the same attribution with "🎁 applied when you upgrade".

  • Promotional wording: Each campaign has its own personalized message. If no custom message is configured, you'll see "You have a promotional offer."

Important: If you sign up with a student email, promotional codes entered during signup are not applied β€” student accounts are handled separately. Contact support with questions about your student plan benefits.

Entering a promo code

  1. Open Wispr Flow and go to Settings β†’ Plans and Billing.

  2. Click Add promo code to expand the input field.

  3. Type your code and click Apply (or press Enter). A checkmark appears once the code is accepted. Click X to clear it and try a different code.

Note: The promo code field is only visible if you don't have an active subscription. Users on a Basic plan, or before starting a trial, will see it.

Once applied, the code is reflected in your trial days at checkout. If something goes wrong, the field shows one of these messages:

  • Code not valid: The code wasn't recognized. Double-check it and try again. If the problem persists, contact support.

  • You already have a promo applied: Your account already has an active promo code. Contact support if you need to change it.

Common issues

Bugs fixed in recent updates

The following issues were fixed in recent versions. To resolve any of them, update Wispr Flow to the latest version.

  • Extended trial shortened when joining a team: If you had a longer trial from a referral, promotional offer, or student deal, creating or joining a team could replace it with a shorter 14-day team trial. Your original trial is now preserved.

  • App Store purchase not recognized on iOS: A purchase or subscription restore could fail if it completed before the app finished setting up your account in the background.

  • App crashed when opening a subscription screen: Opening a subscription or upgrade screen before the app fully launched could cause a crash.

FAQs

Can I apply for a discount on iOS or Android?

The iOS app lets you select a billing or discount request type, but doesn't support file attachments for verification. To submit verification, use the web support page or the desktop app.

On Android, discount-specific request forms and promo code entry aren't available in-app. You can submit a general billing support request with an optional screenshot, but discount verification must go through the web support page or desktop app. Subscriptions also can't be purchased in-app on Android.

What verification do I need?

Depending on your category: a student ID, non-profit registration details, documentation of accessibility needs, military ID, or age confirmation.

How long does approval take?

The support team typically reviews discount requests within a few business days.

Can I apply multiple promotional codes?

No β€” only one promotional code can be active at a time. Contact support if you need to change your code.

Purchase found but sync failed on iOS β€” what do I do?

If you see a "Purchase Found, Sync Needed" message after restoring a purchase, check your internet connection and try restoring again. If it still fails, contact support.

My subscription is linked to another account on iOS

Your Apple ID subscription is already linked to a different Wispr Flow account. Sign in with the account that originally purchased the subscription, or contact support for help.

Still need help?

Reach out to support if:

  • Your discount request was denied and you'd like to appeal or clarify your eligibility.

  • A valid promo code won't apply, or you need to swap an active code for a different one.

  • You can't attach your verification document through any of the channels above.

When contacting support, include your account email, platform (Mac, Windows, iOS, or Android), the discount category you're applying for, and a screenshot of any error you're seeing.
