VAT, GST & tax on Wispr Flow invoices

Available on: Mac, Windows, iOS, Web (admin.wisprflow.ai)

Wondering whether Wispr Flow charges VAT or GST, or how to get your business details onto an invoice? This guide covers how tax works on Flow subscriptions and what documentation we can provide.

The short version

Wispr, Inc. is a US-based company. The price you see at checkout is the final amount charged. We do not add VAT, GST, or other local sales tax on top, and we do not collect it on your behalf.

Any tax reporting, reclaim, or remittance obligations in your country are handled by you or your organization's accounting, tax, or finance team.

FAQs

Do you charge VAT / GST / sales tax?

No. The subscription price shown at checkout is the total you are charged, with no tax added on top. This applies regardless of your country.

Can I add my company's VAT / ABN / tax ID and business details to my invoices?

Tax ID (VAT / GST / ABN): Enter your tax ID directly at checkout — the checkout page includes a built-in tax ID field. This is the best way to make sure your tax ID appears on your invoices. You do not need to contact support to add a tax ID at purchase time.

If you missed entering your tax ID at checkout, support is currently unable to add or edit it on your billing record afterward.

Company name and address: Support can add these to your billing record so they appear on future invoices. Contact support with:

  • Company name

  • Company address

Once added, these details appear automatically on all future invoices. They cannot be back-applied to invoices already issued.

Note: If business details need to be updated on an already-issued unpaid invoice, this may involve recreating the subscription, in which case you will receive a new invoice email.

Note: When a VAT number is on file, invoices automatically show a country label next to it (for example, "HU VAT"). That label cannot be removed while the number is on file, and the account email always appears on the invoice.

Do you provide a W-9?

Yes. Our current W-9, which includes our EIN, is the tax document we provide on request. Contact support and we'll send it over. It's the only tax document we issue.

My organization is tax-exempt (education / nonprofit). How does that work?

Because we don't add tax to the subscription price, there is no tax line for a tax-exemption certificate to remove. The amount you pay is the same either way. If your finance team needs our business details or our W-9 for their records, contact support and we'll provide them.

Where do I download my invoices?

See How do I download my Wispr Flow invoices? for step-by-step instructions for individual, team, enterprise, and Apple (iOS) subscriptions.

A quick note on where invoices live:

  • Desktop / web subscriptions: Invoices are available in the external billing portal, opened from Manage subscription in Plans & Billing settings. There is no in-app invoice list.

  • iOS / App Store subscriptions: Invoices and receipts come from Apple, not Wispr. Check your Apple ID subscription history.

Still need help?

For anything tax or invoice related, reach out to support with your account email.

On desktop: Open the app, click Help in the sidebar, click Talk to support, select Billing from the Request Type dropdown, then describe what you need.

On iOS: Open the app, tap the menu, tap Talk to Support, select the Report an Issue tab, then choose Billing as the request type.

Note: Subscriptions purchased through the App Store are managed by Apple. Wispr cannot process refunds or subscription changes for App Store purchases — for those, manage your subscription via Apple.
