Request a Flow discount or fix student pricing

Last updated: October 23, 2026

Available on: Mac, Windows, iOS, Android. Requests that need a verification document go through desktop Flow or web support, and a confirmed discount may require desktop or web checkout instead of Apple or Google Play billing.

If student pricing is missing or an approved offer looks wrong, confirm eligibility and the account before paying. A submitted address, proof document, approval message or visible code does not by itself mean an offer is active or applied.

Check eligibility and the current offer

Each discount category has its own eligibility and evidence rules. Support confirms current terms for your account and plan. Student and educator offers are separate, and monthly and annual subscriptions can carry different offers — no rate, duration or renewal behavior is universal.

Category

Evidence and limits

Student

See Student pricing below for recognition and enrollment review.

Education (not student)

Send educator or staff evidence: an employment letter, staff or faculty ID, teaching certification or a public staff page.

Non-Profit

Send your registered nonprofit details; the offer may not cover every plan, seat or billing provider.

Military

A statement of current service or veteran status is enough — no photo of a military ID.

Senior Citizen

Government ID and benefits cards are not required for this category.

Accessibility Support

No disability paperwork is required; never send medical records or certificates.

A code issued for one Flow account is not shareable — each person requests an offer for their own account.

Submit your verification

Desktop Flow: Mac and Windows

Use Help in Flow's sidebar on either platform. Mac also has Help → Talk to support in the menu bar and the Command+/ shortcut; Talk to support is also available from the tray menu.

Share feedback has no request-type or discount fields; its messages go to the product team and aren't monitored by Support. The Contact us link in the Plans and Billing footer opens Talk to Sales.

Desktop accepts one PNG, JPEG, BMP or WebP image up to 10 MB, not PDFs; only the first image is sent. Multiple selections are rejected with “Maximum 1 file allowed.” The total size of a selection must stay within 10 MB, or you'll see “Total file size exceeds 10MB limit.”

Request Type defaults to Issue and also offers Billing and Account & Data Management. Only Billing reveals Discount Request, initially No discount. Every other category requires an attachment and immediately shows “Please attach your verification details below for eligibility confirmation.”

Warning: Once Flow attempts delivery, the dialog closes and clears even if sending fails. On a send failure, only your message is copied to the clipboard, not the attachment. A blank message or missing required attachment stops submission first and leaves your text intact. An unsupported file can close and clear the dialog without sending anything, showing a confirmation or copying the message. Save your message before sending.

  1. Open Help → Talk to support → Report an issue.

  2. Set Request Type to Billing.

  3. Select your category under Discount Request.

  4. Enter the required message, using no more than 10,000 characters.

  5. Attach one permitted verification image.

  6. Select Send message, or press Cmd+Enter on Mac / Ctrl+Enter on Windows.

“Feedback sent!” confirms submission. The confirmation email says support will be in touch and links to the Help Center and status page.

If the message wasn't sent

For “Please enter a message”, fill in the message. For “Please attach verification details for discount eligibility confirmation”, attach a permitted image or use web support, then submit again.

If sending failed and the dialog closed, including after a message longer than 10,000 characters:

  1. Reopen Help → Talk to support → Report an issue.

  2. Set Request Type to Billing.

  3. Select your discount category again.

  4. Restore your message from the clipboard or saved copy, keeping it within 10,000 characters.

  5. Reattach a permitted image.

  6. Select Send message and check for the submission confirmation.

Web support (PDFs and other documents)

Use web support when your evidence is a PDF or another non-image document.

  1. Open wisprflow.ai/support.

  2. Select Get Support.

  3. Set Request Type to Billing to reveal the Discount Request category.

  4. Select your category.

  5. Enter the Flow account email that should receive the offer.

  6. Attach permitted verification.

  7. Submit the request.

Keep the confirmation email; support reviews the request and emails the outcome. Check that the address you enter is the intended Flow sign-in account — a support or checkout address may be only a billing contact.

If you only have a phone

Submit verification through web support. iOS support accepts text only; Report an issue requires a message and a request type: Issue, Billing or Account management, with no discount category. It also sends device details and app logs as text.

Android's Report an issue → Billing sends a general billing question with at most one image, but has no discount-category form or promo-code entry, so a message alone does not complete a discount application.

Student pricing

Student status can be recognized at signup from a supported university domain or an address ending in .edu. Addresses under .edu.pl, .edu.kg, .edu.rs, .edu.vip or .edu.com qualify only when the school or a parent domain is on Wispr Flow's university list. For example, uw.edu.pl and student.uw.edu.pl qualify; an unlisted made-up .edu.pl domain does not. Temporary or disposable mail addresses are never accepted.

Checkout and plan switching use your account's existing student recognition; they do not reassess a later email change or a school added after signup.

If your address isn't recognized you can still sign up and use Flow normally, but student checkout and plan switching require an account recognized as a student. Submit current enrollment evidence to support instead: an individually reviewed case can get a Student offer on your existing Flow account.

Selected recognized student accounts receive an annual $0 Student offer with no credit card required; it is not universal. Recognized students without the free offer see and pay student pricing in the Pro column. A Student request can still use paid student pricing if the free price is unavailable, so check the total.

Important: If you already pay for Pro, ask support about the plan-change path before starting another purchase. A paid subscription does not convert automatically when you request an offer. Do not cancel, repurchase or switch plans until support confirms the exact path. Buying through a store can still create overlapping subscriptions and charges.

Claim a confirmed Student offer

  1. Sign in to the account confirmed for the offer.

  2. Open desktop Settings → Plans and Billing.

  3. Select Claim for free in the Student column, or Claim Free Plan on the dedicated card.

The dedicated “Flow is free for students!” card appears for eligible Basic/free accounts and Pro accounts not already on Student. The Student column is in the all-plans comparison. Claiming is separate from approval; no prior Pro purchase is needed. Once claimed, the plan applies across devices on that account.

A successful free-plan claim shows Flow Student with “Free · renews {date}” or “Free · cancels {date}”. Directly billed accounts have Manage subscription there.

If the claim control or updated plan is missing

The refresh control is beside the Plans and Billing title.

  1. Select the control labeled Click to refresh.

  2. Wait 10 seconds before retrying if prompted to wait before syncing again.

  3. Sign in if prompted to sync your subscription.

“Your plan is up to date with your account.” confirms a successful refresh. Refresh can fail if your sign-in cannot be refreshed; a failure to load or confirm the subscription leaves your current access unchanged. If the control is still missing, quit and reopen Flow.

For an approved educator offer, sign in to the confirmed account and use desktop Settings → Plans and Billing to claim or continue checkout. If an active Pro trial blocks claiming, wait until the trial ends and claim it then — no separate purchase is needed first.

If pricing or an approved offer still looks wrong

  1. Check the signed-in account and original sign-in method against the account named in support's reply.

  2. Check desktop Settings → Plans and Billing and the checkout screen.

  3. Check the billing provider before continuing.

A regular-price in-app preview is not proof the offer is missing — the reduction can appear at final Stripe Checkout. A team summary or Plans and Billing card can show list price even when the invoice carries the offer. Checkout and Manage subscription open in your browser; Flow updates the plan after the change is confirmed.

Warning: If the confirmed reduction is missing or checkout shows an unexpected charge, stop before paying and contact support to verify the invoice and renewal terms. Only start a Pro trial if checkout shows $0 due today and support confirms it can apply your offer before the first charge; if checkout shows an immediate charge, don't complete it. If you already have a discount, ask support to compare prices and renewal terms first — keep your existing subscription if the new offer would cost more.

Existing subscriptions and team billing

Team, Apple, Google Play and direct desktop or web subscriptions use different billing routes. Desktop blocks a new checkout while an active direct subscription, trial or mobile subscription exists.

For recognized students eligible for the free offer, claiming from a directly billed Pro subscription switches the existing plan without a new checkout. Pro → Student switching requires that free offer; Student → Pro switching in place is not available.

Apple subscriptions are excluded from the desktop switch. Manage via Apple replaces the desktop management and annual-savings controls; manage the subscription on-device. Apple and Google Play subscriptions may need to be managed through those stores.

Team members are routed to team billing rather than personal claiming or checkout. Team purchases must be completed by the approved purchaser account; plan changes require an enterprise admin. Sales-managed organizations must contact sales instead of making self-service billing changes.

A code is rejected or checkout loses the offer

A percentage code belongs in the promotion-code field at checkout after you select the applicable Flow Pro plan. The in-app Add promo code field instead applies offers for free Pro trial days, so a percentage code can look invalid there.

Add promo code is at the bottom of Settings → Plans and Billing and is hidden for existing subscribers. Entering a code enables Apply; Enter also applies it. A successful application shows the code with a check mark and a Remove promo code control. Codes may contain up to 80 characters; capitalization and surrounding spaces do not cause failure.

Applying an in-app code does not immediately grant Pro: complete checkout with payment information to redeem the trial days. No charge is due until that trial ends. When a trial offer is attached, checkout has no percentage-code field; the two offers cannot be combined.

In-app promos exclude active subscriptions, trials, subscriptions awaiting cancellation at period end, mobile subscriptions, team members and recognized student accounts. A promo or affiliate code supplied during email signup is not applied when the account is recognized as a student; campaign promos also do not apply to students at checkout. Any prior promo redemption blocks another, even if the new code is valid.

Messages can identify these restrictions: “Promo codes can't be used on an active subscription”, “Promo codes aren't available on team accounts”, “Promo codes can't be used with a student plan” or “You already have a promo applied”. Other messages include “This code has reached its limit”, “This offer has ended” and “Code not valid”. An unknown, inactive or not-yet-started code can produce the last message; a generic invalid or expired message may also involve a currency or account mismatch.

An older saved code may apply automatically rather than a newer one. If it fails, checkout can continue at full price and allow manual code entry. A pending offer can also disappear or be skipped without an error if paused, expired or at its redemption limit. Regional checkout currency can differ from your expectation.

Rather than retrying repeatedly, ask support to check the code's status; a replacement code or a direct application to your account may be possible after review.

If you already paid

If you already paid for an individual Pro subscription billed directly, support may be able to apply an approved offer and issue a prorated refund for the current period; this isn't guaranteed and doesn't apply to Apple, Google Play, Team or Enterprise billing.

Warning: Support-assisted cancellation of a directly billed individual subscription can include a full refund, a prorated refund or no refund. Each option cancels the subscription immediately.

A support-authorized payment link is never self-service: check the reduced total before entering payment details, and remember a link alone doesn't mean payment went through.

Still stuck?

Contact support to appeal an eligibility decision, resolve a price mismatch or submit verification when no channel works. On desktop (Mac and Windows), if checkout or Manage subscription fails to open, or a plan switch fails, use the error notification's Contact us action.

Include the intended Flow account, platform, discount category, billing provider, offer details, what you tried and the exact error.
