How to Manage Wispr Flow Notifications on iOS

Flow can show information in three places: notifications from iOS, cards inside the Flow keyboard, and a Live Activity on your Lock Screen or Dynamic Island. Each has different controls. Turning off push notifications does not hide the keyboard cards.

Turn push notifications on or off

1. Open your iPhone’s Settings app.

2. Go to Apps → Wispr Flow → Notifications.

3. Turn Allow Notifications on or off. Use the options on this screen to adjust notification sounds and presentation.

You can also open Wispr Flow → Settings → Push Notifications. If iOS has never asked for permission, switching it on opens the permission dialog. If you previously denied access, or want to turn notifications off, Flow takes you to iPhone Settings.

Flow may send a local Complete setup in Wispr Flow reminder if you leave during initial setup. Interrupted, duration-limited, or failed dictations can also generate notifications; these use an interruption sound when notification permission is granted. Referral rewards and other lifecycle updates are presented in the app’s keyboard cards.

Control the cards inside the keyboard

These cards are part of Flow’s interface. They do not require iOS notification permission and are unaffected by the switch above.

• Open: tap the keyboard’s menu icon. A badge indicates unread cards.

• Close: swipe down anywhere in the panel, tap its X, or tap the keyboard underneath. A short drag may leave it open.

• Dismiss a card: use its dismissal control where available. Some cards stay dismissed; recurring error or limit conditions can show again.

The settings gear opens the full Flow app. With no active card, the panel shows usage statistics. Most cards begin after several successful dictations, while milestone and streak cards depend on your usage.

Card	What it means
Words remaining / No words left	You are approaching or have reached the free plan’s weekly limit. A dismissed warning stays hidden, but the limit modal can return when you cross a limit threshold.
Loving Flow?	An App Store rating request. Choose No, thanks to dismiss it or the rating button to continue.
500-word milestone / stats	Usage celebrations and statistics access. The milestone’s dismissal also removes its associated referral card; the stats-unlocked card disappears after it is seen.
Referral reward	A referral has reached its reward milestone. See rewards or dismissing the card removes it. Reward eligibility and billing treatment depend on your plan.
Trial granted / trial ended	Your trial has started or finished. The trial-granted prompt appears once per install; the trial-ended prompt appears once when that trial ends.

Why streak cards keep appearing

During your first week, Flow tracks dictation on five different days; the days do not need to be consecutive. Keyboard setup must be complete for dictations to count.

Starting with your second streak day, the keyboard panel can open automatically after a successful dictation to show progress. Streak cards have no separate off switch. After five days, the congratulations card remains for up to 24 hours unless dismissed. Incomplete streaks stop showing cards 24 hours after the seven-day tracking window ends.

The referral/earn card can also return during its associated 500-word milestone window if that milestone has not been dismissed. Closing the whole panel is different from dismissing a card.

Handle setup and error messages

• Enable Full Access: choose Finish Setup to open iOS Settings and allow keyboard access.

• Microphone Access Denied: choose Go to Settings to grant microphone permission.

• Transcription error: use Retry. An error can return if the underlying condition remains.

You can close these modals with the top-left X or a downward swipe. Dismissing a message does not correct a missing permission.

Live Activities and dictation sounds

Live Activities show recording status and an elapsed timer on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Normal dictation can offer controls to stop recording or start a note; note recording shows Save Note and saving status. Available controls vary with the recording state.

Manage them in iPhone Settings → Apps → Wispr Flow → Live Activities, or select Allow Live Activities in Flow Settings to open that page.

Keyboard cards are silent. Dictation start/stop sounds have their own switch at Wispr Flow → Settings → Interaction Sounds in the Audio section.

If a dismissed card repeatedly returns unexpectedly, or permitted alerts never arrive, contact support with your iPhone model and a screenshot or exact wording of the message.
