VAT, GST & tax on Wispr Flow invoices

Available on: Mac, Windows, iOS, Web (admin.wisprflow.ai). On Android the app shows your plan label only — manage billing from desktop or web.
Wondering whether Flow charges VAT or GST, or how to get your business details onto an invoice? Here's how tax works on Flow subscriptions and what documentation we provide.
The short version
Wispr, Inc. is a US-based company. The price shown at checkout is the final amount charged: we do not add VAT, GST, or other local sales tax, and we do not collect it on your behalf. No tax line appears in any Flow purchase or plan screen.
You or your organization's finance team handle tax reporting, reclaim, and remittance in your country.
FAQs
Can I add my company's VAT / ABN / tax ID and business details to my invoices?
Tax ID (VAT / GST / ABN): Enter it in the tax ID field at checkout. Support cannot add or edit a tax ID afterward.
Company name and address: Send support your company name, company address, and billing email or phone. Support adds them to your billing record and they appear on all future invoices, not on invoices already issued.
Team and Enterprise accounts: Contact support from an enterprise admin account or the cost center's designated billing owner (shown as the billing owner email in team settings). Some team-management actions are blocked while billing is not in a live status.
Note: Updating business details on an open (unpaid, finalized) invoice may require recreating the subscription, which sends a new invoice email. The original invoice is voided and never re-billed, so you are not charged twice. Paid invoices cannot be reissued; draft invoices are edited in place.
Do you provide a W-9?
Yes. Contact support and we'll send our current W-9, which includes our EIN. It's the only tax document we issue.
My organization is tax-exempt (education / nonprofit). How does that work?
Because we don't add tax to the subscription price, there is no tax line for an exemption certificate to remove, and you pay the same amount either way. Contact support if your finance team needs our business details or W-9.
Where do I download my invoices?
See How do I download my Wispr Flow invoices? for steps covering individual, team, enterprise, and Apple (iOS) subscriptions. Your purchase channel determines where invoices come from:
Desktop / web: Invoices live in the external billing portal, opened from Manage subscription in Plans & Billing settings; there is no in-app invoice list.
iOS / App Store: Manage subscription hands off to Apple's App Store subscription management; get invoices and receipts from Apple (your Apple ID subscription history or Apple's emailed receipts). If you bought on web or desktop, the iOS Plan screen directs you to the desktop app; Team and Enterprise users on iOS see Manage Plan and Contact us.
Android: No in-app purchase or billing management; manage billing from desktop or web.
Note: The iOS plan label is simplified and may not match the plan name on your invoice — Team subscribers see "Pro," Business subscribers see "Enterprise," and trialing users see "Flow Pro Trial" regardless of tier.
Still need help?
For anything tax or invoice related, contact support with your account email and what you need:
Desktop: Click Help in the sidebar → Talk to support → select Billing from the Request Type dropdown.
iOS: Tap the menu → Talk to Support → Report an Issue tab → choose Billing as the request type.
Note: Apple manages subscriptions purchased through the App Store. Wispr cannot process refunds or subscription changes for those.
